Seems like the synchromax it is then as it very rarely gets that low in temp here in my area of Cali. What about RP stating the synchromax is meant for mtx's requiring ATF? Anybody got any insight on that? I'll be ordering the synchromax in the next couple of days

@Cntrollerfanboy @Exitus04 ?

Sorry for reliving this thread, but I would like to know if I can use synchromax in the automatic transmission ddct ?
Not that I know of... Plus i think the DDCT is required to be done by the dealer due to need of special tools.

The manual calls for the same transmission gear oil for both the manual and DDCT transmissions. I used the Synchromax in my DDCT and am happy with it, although several people have raised concerns about using anything outside of the MOPAR transmission fluid.

Some people just like to OEM is always the best way to go. And for most of the time, they are right. But not always. When I changed out mine, it was black, and the feeling of the shifts were definitely undesirable. I think the Synchromax is some good stuff in my manual.

Maybe right for a 3 or 4 speed manual trans from 1970 but I really wonder if that's right for a modern 6 speed manual or DDCT. And let's not forget all the additives that might be missing in a straight 75W fluid.
On the C-series MTX fluid, it states that it's a GL4 service fluid, which makes sense for a trans. I use GL5 75W85 in the diff of my Fiat 124, and will be using a 75W85 GL4 in the trans when I change it. I still haven't changed the fluid in my Dart, but I do have the correct fluid in my shop... just been, uh, busy (race season :D).

But the Dart is not really a performance car. The SRT version that never happened would have been a performance car. Why are you so sure that the problems with the manual trans are caused by the factory trans fluid? From my reading it seems like the CDV (clutch delay valve), the rear mount, and dealer incompetence are the actual problems.
Dude?? Can a 69 year old guy be a dude?
yes anyone, any age can be a dude...

Correct, there are two different part numbers and the one for the manual Dart says 75 W manual & DDC transmission Fluid. The one for the Dart DDCT clutch fluid reservoir is says that it's 75W hydraulic fluid.

Both the manual and DDCT use the 68092630AA 75W transmission fluid in the gear box of the trans.
ONLY the DDCT clutch fluid reservoir uses the 68092638AA 75W hydraulic fluid. Please note the last numeric digit in the part numbers are different. A hydraulic fluid does not need the same lubrication properties as a gear fluid. Brake fluid is a hydraulic fluid and you would never use that to lubricate gears. The two fluids should not be interchanged.
My heart just dropped as I realized just now i put the gear oil into the hydraulic reservoir! I ordered the wrong bottle from dealership last week 😩. I hope i have not destroyed my transmission. I've been searching the forum on how to change the hydraulic fluid with no luck. Any support would be greatly appreciated!

You'll need alfaOBD on an android device with the OBDLinkMX+. Disconnect a pipe and run the pump motor with the app. Flush it all out and replace with the correct fluid.
