late to the party .. but I think that sentence fragment from the service update really missed the mark ... it concerns me .. when my stuff is flashing without a valid cause ...

Its amazing what I should have read before buying mine.. :(

I will not be a happy owner.. I had zero problems with my 2000 Neon for the first 3 years ... and figured after 12.5 years with over 360k and the engine starting to go, the tranny needing rebuilding ... that a new car would be perfect.. just not the dart.. now I know.

Why not? I'm not being funny .. I'm serious.. its like 90 years of car making and what ?? we should just be grateful the engine doesn't catch fire every 3rd use?

The whole of it all doesn't make sense.. I can forgive not catching something that is apparent on 100% of the cars.. like.. 50% had the problem with the trunk not unlatching with the engine running. Even in that I question why someone didn't read through the rules that extra time to catch how the different rule-sets fire and might loop back to "car moving don't pop the trunk"

Part of it, is not knowing exactly what the symptoms are supposed to represent .. like when a blinker bulb is out, the inside blink indicator is suppose to blink twice as fast .. they make that condition happen to give warning something is wrong..

so in the case of the flashing ODO ... what was that supposed to signify? what condition or warning was it intended to convey to the driver?

And *then* why did it get triggered falsely?
 
You can only test so much on a closed track and with minimal real world driving. This car has a lot of new technology in it and some times it doesn't hold up to certain driving conditions. Everything has its bugs and glitches when its first introduced which is why they have warranties. Most of the time as soon as they discover a problem they fix it. Though there are a few companies that ether dont bother..or wont inform you there was a problem in the first place.
 
Chargerman. My car is at the dealer now for the exact same issue. They changed the instrument cluster, but of course that didn't solve the problem. They are waiting to hear back from Dodge on what to do next. This is their second attempt. Did you ever find a solution?

Chrysler sent them an update to upload to the bcm. The flashing odometer they told me indicates a configuration mismatch between the bcm & and another module. Mine was the amplifier. The bcm & one of the other modules are not communicating. Hope this helps some.
 
this started happening to mine after a radio change. not only is it flashing, the bluetooth STILL doesn't work... mad
 
Mine did it after a radio swap too. I will post on here if I ever get a decent answer as to what caused it.

Update: I had to tell the service manager I was working with that I read on here about it being the BCM. He came back a short while later and said they flashed it and it was ready to go. No problems with it since.
 
So could possibly swapping my radio out in my car with the same radio but it just has satellite radio cash my mileage to flash? And when you say amp are you talking Factory or aftermarket amp?
swapping any module (yes, the radio is a module) on the bus will cause configuration mismatch issues requiring PROXI alignment. this will cause the flashing odometer.
