Acceleration problems

I have a 2.0L and I've been having a problem with acceleration. Can't tell you which gear because its always in auto when it happens. Between 60-90mph my dart will fail to accelerate and the car will stay at the same speed regardless of whether I put the pedal to the floor or not. Anyone else see this happen?

Does the car rev up? Change pitch? Or no reaction at all??

It sounds like a dbw throttle failure. Good thing Chrysler decided to replace the century old proven throttle cable with a pair of sensors that are cheap and just don't work properly.

Can't say I've come across this problem. No problems getting to 100 from 70

There are many things that may be affecting or causing this situation. First there needs to be many questions asked before anyone, a tech or grease monkey, could attempt to diagnose it.
1. Have you flashed your control system? (Updated the software for better performance)
2. Is it every time you attempt this?
3. Have you attempted flipping to auto stick and downshifting manually to see if you accelerate?
4. Does the car downshift when you attempt this in auto?
5. Has your mileage drastically changed since you have noticed this issue?

The problem could be anything from a clogged fuel filter (not very likely but still a chance) to a bad throttle sensor to initiate downshifting when when you mash your foot to the floor.
Like others said. It does sound like a trip to the shop. However if you can answer those questions the diagnosis will be much faster and most likely without unnecessary expense.
