I already know there is an mpg thread for whi is getting what mpg, but instarted this thred in this sub forum because inwas going to see how many M13 drivers are havkng the mpg problems im having..... oh and FYI im 31yrs old and know how to keep my foot out of the throtle.
O.k., all teasing aside, the 1.4T and 6 speed in the M13 and the other darts are the same, my 1.4T auto with 3200 km on it gets 24mpg all city driving, according to the instructors from chrysler when i did ,y chrysler training claim that for the first up to 40,000 km the pcm runs the car rich to keep the engine cooler during the break in period that's why people say after a long road trip they started to see an increase, other than that run a quality synthetic oil like amsoil and run premium fuel

Yeah I think know about the break in period, the toyota frs and scion tc have the same break in period, I used to be a toyota tech until I got tired of doing head replacements on the tc and the problems the frs has with the progressive rev monitor, but I shiuldnt be geting an avg 18.5 alil less per tank, because I do drive on long trips, I have 2187mi already and havnt had it a month yet, so I think ill just be taking my mopar to the shop and see whats going on, also this will make yall laugh and or scratch yalls head, my wifes 2011 journey crew edition has a way higher avg and thats with both of us driving it shes at 26 or 27 avg for her mpg and thsts been like that since we got it last month the same day I got the mopar........ makes me just smh and wonder wth is going on

I get an average of 27mpg but all city driving to and from work and only 6-8 miles one way so engine really doesn't get warm. When I drive the highway for a trip I seem to get 35 or so mpg. But agree it is the same engine and driveline as other 1.4t 6spds. I currently have just over 1200miles on mine

Synthetic is synthictic is synthetic, 5/40 syn oil..... the only diff is the conditioners companies use, I would use amsoil but Im not paying basicly 8.48 per qt online for it though, if anything ill just use valvaline best viscosity breakdown rate on the market and works best with forced induction engines

Do some research, amsoil is the best synthetic on the markert, royal purple is number 2, all oils are not equal and you will find with some research that the engine temperatures with amsoil or royal purple are lower and that fuel mileage with either will be better, sometimes a couple dollars more on oil will save you alot in the long run and being that these cars don't exactly take alot of oil the cost of the oil change won't be much different

You have to be smart to get good mpg in the M13, nuff said.
Hey now lol

Has anyone bought and taken your own oil to the dealership for them to change? I'm curious. Lol

Gonna be ordering some Amsoil for the next change. Got a K & N filter sitting in the trunk also

I haven't done it with the the m13 yet, but I do that with my truck. Take it in to have the oil changed with 8 quarts of amsoil for it. They never bat an eye about it.

Sarcasm? Lol
Not really lol. I guess maybe it is where I am from. I have never heard of anyone taking in oil to their dealer to change it. Either people make a little effort and change their own, or they don't make any effort, and have a place do it all for them. I would be curious of the looks I would get if I did that, haha.

Im bout to call some higher ups at Chrysler and see wtf is going on with that though
