I have mid pipe back with muffler delete. In my expertise or lack there of its the same. A resonater just takes out harsh tones it doesn't really affect the loudness.

 

Gutted mine and love it.

 

I can't upload the video from my phone, but I have 2.5 inch right from the Mid pipe back, no resonator no muffler; nothing. It sounds crazy good. Really nice deep tone, and it's loud, but not crazy loud. If I can figure out how to upload it I will post it up on here.

Gotcha I just dont like the raspy sound so I had a resonater put in. I didnt wanna go cat back because most companies are making a downpipe to the mid pipe anyway.

 

Yeah just coming from a wrx with a 3 in catless turbo back with just a 12" res on it it it's retarded quiet lol

resonator doesn't really do anything but even out the exhaust tone. i.e. you don't get all that raspy sound when you start going into the higher RPM ranges that start to scream out RICE as you're going down the road.

raspy sound from a nice hemi V8 Challenger = awesome.... that same tone from a 4-cylinder... not so much.

doesn't really do much for loudness aside from the raspy sound being loud.
