How about this 2015 SXT?

Not letting the grass grow, I'm also starting a chat with an owner of this 2015 SXT with 75k miles on it on Facebook marketplace. Looks very clean but it's a 2.4L engine, which gives me pause.
I'm double-checking with him but it doesn't sound like he was aware of the reprogramming / recall to ameliorate the oil consumption issue. So that's concerning. He's put 50k miles on it and says no problems whatsoever.
My question is-- if he's right, is it too late to nip the oil consumption issue in the bud, if I do reprogramming, an immediate amsoil cleaning and keep on top of the oil level, or is it Game Over, new brick at the very least within 10k miles?
Have any of these engines lasted 150k miles without needing new piston rings or bricks or is that a four leaf clover?
He's asking $6800. Would a $6k offer be an insult? It's been on FB marketplace for three weeks.

Get the VIN, check the build sheet to see what options it has, and check what if any recalls it has had or still needs. Some have regretted getting the oil consumption flash. Not sure if it's an automatic flash when the catalytic convertor recall gets done. Looking really clean under the hood and inside. Does he say why he's selling?

Yes, I've asked for the VIN.
That's the next question I have for him-- why sell? Hoping it's an innocent answer like 'I need an SUV or larger car'
Some people regret the oil consumption flash? In that, it didn't help or they didn't like the feel of reduced engine braking, or gas mileage fell too much to suit them?

If possible, find a Chrysler dealer that has both a 2.0 and a 2.4 Dart on their used car lot. Test drive both. It may help you decide.
I have been skeptical of the oil consumption flash. I like engine vacuum when you let off the gas. Try searching forum posts about the flash. It's all about how MultiAir is able to manipulate how the engine runs and that is what the flash changes.

If it keeps the engine from burning oil or premature wear on the brick I could probably live with reduced engine braking. I guess my question is, have people managed to keep a 2.4L going 130-150k miles without having to replace their rings and / or the brick?

Does the recall on the catalytic converter have an end date before you're out of luck? I assume the flash is good until whenever. Just wondering if I got this car and brought it to the dealership what I could expect.

Get the VIN. Get the recall data and the build sheet. It's your decision.
I do my own recalls. I don't trust dealer techs. My Darts have never been back to a dealer. When I check, the mopar site still shows them as not done. I would assume that if I sold one someday and the buyer took it to dealer, the recalls would get done as long as the recall parts were still available.
