Sorry, I know this has been discussed a lot. I’m just wondering if there’s either some issue with the new part or if I might have messed up anything with the hoses when doing the swap. If it’s the hoses, is there any chance there’s a simple way to test for leaks? I found one post that is extremely long and over my head that looks like it might have come from the service manual. Just wondering if there’s anything real-world I could start with, especially knowing that I did not have the code until I replaced the solenoid.

I’ve read about a dealer software fix, and I’ve seen people referencing which version of the software they had, but is there any way to check if mine’s been done?

 

Get the correct oem wastegate solenoid. It could easily be just that parts store aftermarket cheap made in china junk. If you still get the new code, unfortunately there isn't one single cause and you should follow the diagnostic from the service manual that you found.

 

I think that’s already pretty much the way I’m leaning. I didn’t have complete faith in the cheap part to begin with. I think it at least showed that there was some issue due to the solenoid since it fixed the first code, so I’ll go ahead and get the real one. If that doesn’t fix it completely, I can then jump down the diagnostic rabbit hole. Either way, it appears the original part was faulty in some way.

But, man, those things are expensive.
