Hi guys. I'm looking to buy a used Dart. Found a 2014 GT from a private seller. I called Mopar and I can purchase the extended warranty through them. Question is, is that the only option? Is it worth it? He says I can get last year's pricing and he has a promotion right now where I can get the full warranty for about $2000 after taxes. Suggestions or comments?

When I called Dodge, they told me that if i bought the extended warranty through them that they offer any warranty time frame you could look for. The kicker was that if you purchased say a 7yr-65,000mi. warranty and didn't have to use the warranty throughout that whole time period... they would send you a check for the exact amount you paid for the warranty! i thought that was super cool!

Let's get real exitus. We are going to use the extended. Many MANY times. We have darts, some of us turbos. People can't even get past 1,000 miles without going to the dealer :haha:

Although some will be lucky. Hopefully all the horror stories we hear will not be very common with us.

Chryslerwarrenties.com is an online extended warranty seller. They are a Chrysler/jeep/dodge dealer from Massachusetts that give a pretty good discount on Chrysler warranties. You choose from maximum care, added care, and powertrain care warranties, the number of years of coverage, and the deductible you want. You should check out the site to see the different levels of coverage. You can get a quote online. The only thing they don't do is financing. At the very least you can compare their price to what a dealer is asking.

Hi, when you say you "called dodge" what number did you use? Who did you speak with? Just wondering because I just bought a new dodge dart and very reluctantly added the 7yr 75000 mile Mopar warranty. I thought it was a scam but my friend pushed me to get it. I paid 2995$ for the warranty and 995$ for tires and rims ...so together they were almost 5000$ after tax. Is it too late to back out of it or should I?
