Emergency Brake Adjustment

I recently replaced my rear rotors and pads. I had noticed that it was taking more travel on the e-brake handle until the brakes started to engage.

Now with the new brakes and rotors, the distance seems similar. I recall when the car was new, the e brake would engage very shortly after pulling the brake handle.

It's possible that the e brake cable stretched?

Is there a procedure to check/adjust the tension on the e brake cable?

You only need to remove the back end cap of the console. Just remove the slack with the adjustment nut.
Thank you. When you say back end cap, are you referring to the part behind the storage area? I'm assuming it's just held on by bolts and not snapped in place?

Is there a certain amount of slack, or number of clicks it should take before the brake engages? I just don't want to make it too tight.

STANDARD PROCEDURE - PARKING BRAKE ADJUSTMENT
The back of the console just snaps in place. I usually adjust mine by pulling the lever 1/3 of the way up… then snugging the 10mm nut.

Thank you guys! I will give this a try and report back.
