I just want the opinions of the community on how I plan to make my 2013 Dodge Dart SXT 2.0L into a Dodge Dart Hellcat. Here is the list of items I already on my Dart:
1. Ingen CAI
2. MPx Headers
3. KMC Bully wheels
This is the image list of what I plan to put on it: (Also any good suggestions on a performance chip?)

I totally disagree. You be you. There is no official Dart Hellcat so your creation can represent it with badging. If someone doesn't like it, let them blow your doors off and then you take pleasure that for a moment, the other driver was a bit nervous to lose to a Dart.

Its your money, your car.... everyone is different.... I just did a PLC dart into what would of been like one of the SRT concepts showed by mopar using all mopar parts and the one thing that made the biggest improvement by far on my deal is the computer as far as mods go. It will kill my current trans so im looking into a better rebuild kit and if any aftermarket parts will help.

The biggest thing I could think to strive for is if your going to make it look hellcat like do it as much as mopar would vs a ragged out ricer look with low quality parts and low quality paint work.

I guess what my point is, do mopar proud if your going to build something they didnt and make it look like it could of been massed produced or it might get lumped into that ragged out ricer category which does not further the cause. Dont know the power ouput a hellcat dart would expect to be but youd have to do soemthing to at least make it perform better... what are you statarting with?..... Just looked.... the 2.0 would be a no go for me from the gate, the little turbo motor or 2.4 would be the one id pick and never the 2.0.

What color is your car, you know hellcats mostly are attractive colors. My main reason to do my dart like a SRT is I was lucky enough to find the only darts with the same color code as the SRT cars. Its the same as my hellcat charger, PLC.

I got two computers from a friend at chrysler and a billet trunk emblem vs the plastic as sold to the public and again with all the other mods, the computer is where the power comes from by far. I do have a hood mod to do yet but everything im doing is 95% all mopar parts. A bit of aftermarket to fab up the fresh air to the airbox and the other side has fresh air to the oil cooler at the fog light inlets

Im one the fence on mine but it gets more looks in public then my hellcat does for some reason. Ive not done the side sills yet because ive the bigger brakes for it.

Do a good job and make it look good and perform better then a production dart and people will like it.

I modeled my 2014 Dart GT (6 speed manual) after the GLH concept. Some of the mods I have installed:

  • Syked Tuned ECU
  • MPx Header & Cat Back Exhaust
  • MPx Overbored Throttle Body
  • MPx lightweight Water Pump Pulley
  • RRM Light Weight Crank Pulley
  • MPx Oil Catch Can
  • Deyeme Clutch Delay Delete
  • Deyeme Rear Mount
  • Deyeme Shift Control Arm & Rod
  • Injen Cold Air Intake
  • Lowering Springs
  • Copper Plugs

MP, that looks really nice and well executed. How do you keep from rubbing at times?

I bought lowering springs but have rubbed the front lip spoiler one time and im not in any extreme area for odd angles, so I never installed them. But I dont think I could even get into my one shop that has a very gentle slope with a lot of issues. I thought about a 19 inch wheel to take up some space in the wheel well but my mopar rims are a dead on mini hellcat type design and at $100 per that the mopar dealers now want $1500 a set for would be hard to give up.

You can see the gentle slope in the pics above and how much room I have going into it. Im pretty anal, if the front lip starts to show scuffs I will have to replace it. Another reason I dont want to hit the fronm is I used the mopar accessory billet lower grille, just stripped it and powder coated it for the different look and the bigger air spaces for better flow but its attachment system is sub standard imo so I added some more ways to fasten and secure it but I dont want to pop it out (although it can only go inward) but still.

You can see the mounting points in the lower pic.

I give this youngster tons of credit for doing this, but even by his own words its a crap part and not cheap, but look at the overall fitment and the use of the common ricer cheap lower grille material, the missing part leaving things exposed and then the inlets in front of the wheels. No purpose, no duct work, ect....

I dont understand why a company would not make a higher quality part even at 2x the costs. Not a dig as ive pics of my cars when young and I was no different but this front fascia might be great for a 25 year old living in an apt. or with ones parents but me near 60 this would not fit well parked next to a hellcat and three older classics. That may sound harsh but its not meant to be if people would think of it a bit of what fits in where.

Here is the vid...

That's pretty much what you get from any aftermarket body piece like that, but yeah, that doesn't look good. Also, I think putting a Hellcat badge on a Dart is pretty sad. It's not a great way to be taken very seriously by Dart enthusiasts or Hellcat enthusiasts.

IMHO
if your trying to lean towards hellcat, at least make it run balls to the wall. hellcats are the pinnacle of dodge performance so that is the bar to jump.
you would be better off with SRT or scat if you had a turbo.
its like mustangs putting cobra badges all over, looks ridiculous to me, but I have a real cobra so even if they fake em good, I can pick out a mile away

Really my hellcat charger is only a great car in one area, straight line. Ive got my donor car 2.4 short block together with a different piston rod/stroke combo and hope to have a trans that will hold by spring. In many areas the Dart is a better handling car simply due the 4700lb plus hellcats weight of course two different designs/two types of cars.

Love it when a guy with a chevy related moniker on a mopar related site has a first post thats negative. If hobbyists. collectors and hot rodders actually listened to the masses we all just might be driving upstaged GM products that started life as something different. But long ago I realized that my cars, my money ect.... go figure I do as I like.

Not much love for anything on this site other then people posting problems with there darts but with great mods that save the day. My stroked 2.4 is doing well and head to head vs a std 2.4 auto STX dart things are going well. But really no time for the haters on the web who simply want to criticize or pop in to be a jerk.

But at the end of the day our cars our money. Dont like modded darts, move on. Dont like oem 18 Dart rims, dont use them. Dont like yourself, do the world a favor.

Throughout the progression cars have been rebadged, modified, MANY made to be what they never were no matter what brand. But for me even pushing 60 with performance cars from 1970 to 2021 im living the dream.

Anyone interested on my mini stroked build feel free to PM me, so far its the best improvement to cheat the pcm/ecm.

So after reading some of the comments on my post I have thought really hard about it. Ya’ll are right… it isn’t a Hellcat… you know what it is though??? A TIGERSHARK!!! So I am proud to say I am going to represent the dart as what it is. The badges I will be adding are a TIGERSHARK. What do ya’ll think??? I am also in the process of fabricating my own window louvers for the small rear windows. I’m starting with those first before trying to go full scale on the whole rear window. I post more pics of the cardboard models of them before i make them out of plastic on this thread and ya’ll let me know what you think. If y’all like them I can make a template of everything so y’all can print it out and make some yourself!!
