I'm having trouble finding info on.. well a lot of stuff past bushing or snapped cable, as those problems are so often the case. In-fact, I have already swapped my bushings twice (gotten good at it), and just did the cable this weekend. I PROMISE its not those. Gear box feels fine, shifts by hand ok on top of the gear box)

..its the shifter itself, or something electric. The Dart is still mostly dissembled still. Thru a battery and its computer back in to run it, and it even gave the key back outta the ignition!

But still doesn't shift. The button on the shifter seems stuck still. I have to flip the little switch in the assemble myself to get the dash to flip a switch that i can hear in the dash to give the key up.

Its a mess.. I heard maybe taping the lever that hits that switch might help? But i was wondering if there isn't im missing, or if there's a better backyard fix then getting a whole new auto shifter.

Just want it to drive, doesn't have to be pretty, i can fix that later.

Run for the first time in months today! Yaaay!

Pull another shifter assembly from a wrecked Dart at a self serve junkyard. New shifter assemblies are discontinued so a junkyard is the only source. As our Darts get older, the stuck key is a common problem. For the fix, you just cut the two wires at the switch and solder them together to bypass the microswitch.
