Unable to clear Permanent P0456 code.......help!!!

I am at my wits end. I have now done everything suggested by you all here and getting nowhere. Let me back up....

I posted about not clearing a CA smog requirement in the last week or so. I got some stellar advice from Alpinegreeneon and followed it exactly.

Now after 15 drive cycles and almost 800 miles I cannot get this permanent code to clear. My tags are now 2 months expired and I see no hope of ever getting them at this rate!!

What can I do? Thanks for any insights........

Nice!, you are ready for the SMOG then. Post up your passing test here when you are done!!

sooooooo, a followup to the followup.

After attempting to get my car smogged at 4 Star stations not a one of them would do it because of the permanent code.

I have filed a complaint with the Calif BAR because I am lead to believe that THIS should not be an issue.

Stay tuned.....who knows what will happen next!!

Sigh

Did you tell them you had a PDTC or did all of them pre screen it to find it?

Here’s a follow up. Permanent P0128 still here but I passed smog. My Actron scanner shows monitors since last DTC, Diagnostic Trouble Code earse, but not miles or drive cycles since. I kept track of miles and cycles as I watched the monitors slowly show ready. The last monitor took about 275 miles.

Following up to my followup on the saga of a permanent code and not passing smog. What a crazy ride it has been. After more than 1500 miles driven and 35 starts my OBD reader gave this to me this morning. I do believe THIS is what I need to finally get this dang thing smogged? I fear taking it to any of the shops I have previously for fear I am not yet "ready" in their eyes. Thanks for the support and feedback. Gotta do something to figure out what happened and why it took so long for the computer to reset. My tags expired in April and I have been chasing this since Feb. Yikes!!

Forgot to say that I paid to have it smoke tested and they could not find anything wrong at all. Sigh

That's because with a permanent code present and no check engine light there is nothing wrong with your car.

All your monitors are green correct? All I see in the pic is CCM = Component Monitor

This is the only information that is displayed when I plug the OBD reader in. Even the Live Data screen shows me nothing else about other components. Is there somewhere else I should be looking? Previously when I plugged in the reader it would show me all the other components but now just this screen comes up.
Huh, yea that is strange. I am not sure. Maybe one of the pins is not making good contact in the plug?

Should see a series of green lights across the top like this:

That is what I thought I should see but it is not there. The dialogue is the same but only the one green light as shown in the pic I posted previously. Will try plugging it in again in the morning. This has been such a pain in the butt!!
