2013 1.4L turbo. When I get into the throttle like any at all, the turbo will not hold boost. It lets out this “Pssh pssh pssh” noise very quickly. Just started randomly while driving.
Previously I had CEL for Cat code. I had that replaced only to still get the same Cat code. But the new one made the car run better. 100k miles. Have changed coil packs also.
only thing modded I guess you could say is a couple holes in the stock air box. It has ran fine forever like this.
Car is currently in the shop, I had them straight pipe it with a catless down pipe hoping to free up airflow. I’m still getting the same pssh pssh pssh noise on the shops dyno. Can anyone tap in and help me out?

Well, I may be a bit late but… bump. 2013 1.4 here as well and it does this at the top end. I have a K&n Intake and I have also adjusted my wastegate to 6mm. (1.5 stock)
When I get into the throttle, typically right as I get passed 4k RPMs I can hear AND feel my dart leaking boost. It acts jittery like it starts to boost and let’s off over and over until I shift. I can also hear a whining like sound. Not the typical turbo sound that the intake brings to life. Maybe could also compare it to a whistle. Car is fine other than this, no lights or codes. Personally I think it’s either the diverter valve, boost solenoid, or a hose leak somewhere. Could it also be possible that I have the wastegate adjustment too high? I’ve seen people on this forum that have set 7-8mm just fine. Idk if I wanna go that high lol.

The Pssh Pssh is from too high WG actuator preload. You are overboosting and the stock boost solenoid is trying to tell the turbo to calm down. Adjust preload and go from there

I have a dodge dart rallye 1.4L turbo with the same problems. Has an aftermarket air intake too. Came with the car when I bought it at a dealership 3 weeks ago. Can anyone elaborate more on adjusting the WG actuator preload?
