Pins are in the cluster, not the connector. Pinout is for reference.
Radio might have something to do with it because it has network connections.

Did the buttons on the back of the steering wheel for the radio work before you installed the TFT cluster? If you still have the original radio, you could try reinstalling that radio to test the cluster. Networks in newer cars are not usually happy with aftermarket stuff.

I bought one on ebay for like $220 and they'll program it to you mileage. Just check their listing if they do it or not.

It is plug and play. You just need the 4 button evic switch for full functionality. I'm fairly certain the compass will not work because it requires an additional module.
What happens if you don’t swap the buttons? Is it still usable and somewhat customizable?

You won't be able to change some options in the menu because you need to be able to arrow over to them and you won't be able to because you are missing the button.
