How can I tell what version of the... car software? I'm running? Dealer said they flashed but I have reasons to believe they didn't.

Where can I get information on the different updates? Should I be wary of certain updates and not have them flashed?

The flash itself will have a part number but you will need to have a scanner to see that, as for being wary of updates, they update them because of flaws in the programing, no different then updating your home computer, usually they are for driveability problems or maybe even for radio issues, on a whole any time there is an update it is a good thing to have them done. As for info on the update your dealer should give you that info if you ask for it, on the invoice it should have a recall number or rapid response number that called for the flash and then you can get the info based on that number

Well, as computer updates go, sometimes something else goes awry, lol. :)

Is there a Chrysler or Dodge website listing these updates? I have a feeling the service guys at my dealership are lazy. They said they flashed it when I had it in for them to lazily not do anything about my AutoStick problem, but it didn't show up on my receipt. I'd like to be able to go in and say "It should be this version, now show me what it says."

Thanks for the response. :)

If there was a specific problem listed there may have just been an update for that concern and in that case you would need a scanner to see the program but even then if you didn't know what the version was before then there would be no way really to tell what it was before, if it was that there just happened to be an update for your car that needs to be done then it would be listed on the invoice so that they can bill accordingly to chrysler, either way they should tell you if you inquire what they actually updated and the problems it is supposed to fix, some techs are lazy and if there is an issue will just flash with the newest software available for the specific component that is giving you issues whether or not it is supposed to fix that issue, i would talk to the service department and get more info if you have concerns, a good service adviser will tell you without any hassle

Fun. I guess it might help to read this thread, sorry for cross post, but it relates.

My service rep pretty much thought I was a retard the entire time till I test drove with the tranny guy. And then, to top it off, my receipt says "Test Drove Vehicle. Performed Test Drive And Found System Is Working As Designed." But it's not. No mention of a flash or anything. Anyway, I'm gonna find a way to take it apart, I swear I know exactly what's wrong with it, just need to get the leather off the stick to see inside. ;)

Thanks for the info and advice jelli :)
