08 - Electrical / 8F - Engine Systems / Battery System / TRAY, Battery / Removal

REMOVAL

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable (2).

2. Remove the battery fuse block (1) and position aside.

3.Remove the battery thermal cover.

4. Remove the bolt that secures the battery clamp to the battery tray.

5. Remove the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) from the battery tray.

6.(DDCT only) Disconnect the Smart Drive Unit (SDU) (2) electrical connector (3).

7.Remove the Power Distribution Center (PDC) (3) and position aside.

8.Remove the wiring harness retainers from the battery tray (3).

9. Remove the upper battery tray bolt (2).

10.Partially lift vehicle.

11. Remove the front left side tire.

12.Remove the inner wheel splash shield (1).

13.Remove the bolt that secures the washer solvent bottle to the battery tray.

14.Remove the bolt that secure the battery tray to the outer frame rail.

15.Remove the wiring harness from the battery tray.

16.Lift the vehicle.

17.Remove the lower belly pan.

18.Remove the bolts (2) that secure the battery tray to the inner frame rail.

19.Lower the vehicle.

NOTE: The battery tray is positioned between the upper frame rail and the drivers side headlight bezel assembly. Care is required when removing the battery tray from the vehicle.

20. Using care, remove the battery tray from the vehicle by rotating the tray.
