I'd did it and need to wait for next oil change to see the results.
Had mine done about 3 weeks ago. I wasn't a big oil guzzler but got it done anyway. I do notice that the car seems to coast better somehow while your foot is off the gas pedal and I sadly lost the great hard shifts I had trained the automatic transmission to do. Every time I leave from a stop now I jam the accelerator down and make it go through the shift sequence banging all the way, lol!!!

I've had the update for 6k miles and my car had been consistently using .5 quart every 1000 miles. I'm beyond excited to report it has consumed zero oil since the update! It does coast alot better when letting off the throttle but other then that no difference that I've noticed.

Can someone please explain exactly what that recall is doing? What exactly are they modifying to help with the oil consumption issue?
The engine is sucking oil during deceleration. They are changing the vacuum parameters in the ecu to eliminate this. This is why people say it coasts better after the fix, you no longer have that engine braking occurring.

Thank you. I’m just curious, is the vacuum being diverted elsewhere? Or just lowering the amount somehow?
So less engine braking seems to be the only real difference that people notice?
I’m just always slightly afraid to mess with things like this. I change my oil every 4K miles (severe driving recommendation, just to be safe) but the engine is usually down between .5 and 1 quart by then.
I have no idea how they got rid of the vacuum. I think just about everybody that posted about the fix said only difference was the engine braking and coasting better.
I do 5k oil changes and I'm down about 1qt by then. It's not enough for me to get the fix because I like the engine braking in the Dart, it makes it more fun to drive. I just keep a spare qt in my trunk and around the 3k mile mark I check the oil level and add if necessary.

MultiAir is magic, it controls valve duration and does not let manifold vacuum increase past a certain point.

I just changed my oil for the first time since I had the update done. I made sure the oil level was topped off right after the update was done. I drove the car approx another 1500 miles, and the update seemed to work. Car wasn't as low as it would've been when accounting for the mileage difference.
Now with an oil change, I'll report back at my next oil change how it's been doing.

Update guys, till now, my car is working well, no oil consumption, everything is fine and I'm satisfied. Just wanted you to know.
