I used to also really struggle with this after the car went to a tire shop a few times repairing all the flats, the first few years of owning the cars. Ended up using a pair of ***** to hack off the chrome covers for all the front lugs; then the regular hex head left behind works normally with an 11/16” socket I believe. Never hacked the covers off the rear lug bolts yet since buying a black deep 19 mm 6 point socket from harbor freight. It generally works smoothly in the rear still, but eventually plan to hack the rear covers off because needing to use 2 different sized sockets is annoying, and likely to have issues dealing with emergency flats at tire shops.
