My girlfriend has a 13 limited and very often the key won't come out of the ignition. When you turn the car off the ignition gets stuck and won't turn all the way off usually pushing the shifter button a couple of times will cause it to release and you'll hear it click in the dash behind the lock cylinder when it does release.

Is this a known issue and what specifically is causing it?

So I have 2015 Dodge dart 2.4L engine automatic. I'm curious with the soldering or splicing of the two wires do you still the wires to be connected to the switch? I indestand the green and white wires from the microswitch have to be spliced or soldered however , do they still have to be connected to the switch itself and then reassemble the microswitch to shifter assembly? Or just solder or splice &crimp wires together and otherwise toss the microswitch?

You bypass the switch by connecting the wires together. Nothing is connected to the switch. You can leave the switch there, it isn't easy to pry it off.

Ive had this problem, too. Wondering if this issue could also have something to do with my car not starting at times. When the key is turned it just makes a clicking sound like the battery is dead or its the alternator. Although it seems like an electrical problem when this happens, jumpstarting doesn't work. Using the "force start" button on the battery pack also has no effect, which makes me think its not the starter. Then, it eventually restarts seemingly at random. The key problem seems to occur around the same time as the starting issue, but the starting issue doesn't happen every time the key gets stuck. Could the two be related?
