So.
Hmph.
Appreciate the wealth of knowledge in this thread.
Only if it were found years ago when I bought my 16 in 2017.
I normally don't try to do things the hard way. I enjoy the challenge, and find a pleasure in getting things done right the first time.
The lighting issues on this car are amazing.
I have built dozens of rides. All having their own quirk's.
But this darn Dodge dart, has some goofy issues.
Now like many others I felt the headlights on this little car were inadequate.
Especially after building fully modded vehicles.
So as I do with every single car I own. I purchase upgraded lighting. Interior, exterior, front to back.
Just my thing. That's what I do.
First kit led
I won't post company names. I spent quality amount of money. We know what cheap gets you with Mopar.
From day one. Error messages, which expected. This isn't my first tango work canbus. I worked around that for a bit, built cancellers myself, which ended the messages.
And then one night in the way home, both lights go out.
Oh snap.
Pull over key on and off couple times. Back on in business.
Then few weeks. Left light out, and back on for a few days then out again.
So I replace the kit.
Kit 2
Canbus kit...still have error messages. Added my fantastic cancellers. No errors. In business...
Then one early day for work, dark as can be outside.
Headlights dont work. No key on off, hundreds of times.....nothing..
Waited for sunrise.
Leave work, lights work just fine.
So I start investigating, I notice there is no catch on the plugs I have. I assume the have play, so I tightened everything up. Slapped a couple of zip ties on harness plug to alleviate anything coming undone.
Then week or so later. Random light out, one day left one day right.....
So as much as we hate to. We invest in another quality kit.
Kit 3
Went to HiD
I figured with low wattage kits prior, I was getting errors that could not be for seen.
Kit was awesome 👌
So bright.
Months went by.. and then boom no headlights.
Drove home in darkness with running lights.
Company overnighted new ballast..
Worked great again 👍 excited
Then one day. No left bulb.
Swapped ballast. Same issue.
Company sent new bulbs.
Worked great again, for about a week.
Then random left, or right bulb out.
Very irritated by now
Replace kit
4th time. Expensive kit. Like ashamed expensive.
Canbus hid.
By this time it's like mid 2019 people have kits more figured out by now....
Got this 💪 awesome kit.
So bright
Clean cutoff
Was able to clean up my wiring quite a bit.
Kit worked. Checked everything
Then back out of the garage, walk inside go to close door. One freaking headlight.
I seriously thought I was losing my mind.
So I have dealt. With poor headlights, on my ride. Something so stupid to make a nice car look like bad.
So today I double checked everything, it worked I made sure there was voltage for the 800th time. Got all back together, back out of garage. Damn headlight is out again.
SO IF I UNDERSTAND CORRECTLY FROM YOUR WHOLE THREAD.
there is an issue on the 2016 plug seating properly into the connector?
Can someone verify this.
I feel stupid to have over looked such a thing....
