I also did a google search after countless searches for performance parts. I thought shoot theres gotta be forum for stuff like this and here i am.
wow dart is my dream ride manAlso did a Google search. For "Dodge Dart Forum".
fine model i guessAlexa pointed me in the direction! I'm happy I came here. Being a rare dart owner, I would love to see if anyone else has one!!! View attachment 124963
Can you be specific? Then trouble appeared and I found you guys out of desperation.
Always loved the 5 spoke GT wheels in Silver on a Black car. That is one CLEAN GT and looks like around 50k miles. Interior looks spotless. Need to clean mine come spring to get the interior back to that status lolI was looking into the rev limiting on my GT and your website popped up (Google). I'm happy knowing there is a little community, even after the dart has already been discontinued.

dave here. owner of the [in]famous Dart Aero 1.4L turbo. damn thing. 3 transmissions, 2 turbos, all replaced by dealership. wife was driving it and kept overrunning the parking stops in parking lots (catching the ground effects) and finally, the entire oil sponge finally fell off. that's when I noticed the STAINS I was leaving everywhere. I found the ring seal on the topside, replaced with a harbor freight rubber o-ring (3rd one in 18 months) and degreased the engine. discovered where the oil is pooling, decided to search the interwebs. We are always interested in finding out how you found our site. If you can please let us know if you found us on another forum, via Google or Bing or any other method.
This helps us determine what areas seem to be working for us (as far as letting people know about us) or what areas we made need to work on to help get the word out.
Thanks!![]()
The 1.4L turbo engine and DDCT are infamous. There is a correct o-ring for the oil separator for that famous leak. The vacuum pump on the driver side of the head is also famous for leaks. There is a coolant T you want to watch, also famous.dave here. owner of the [in]famous Dart Aero 1.4L turbo. damn thing. 3 transmissions, 2 turbos, all replaced by dealership. wife was driving it and kept overrunning the parking stops in parking lots (catching the ground effects) and finally, the entire oil sponge finally fell off. that's when I noticed the STAINS I was leaving everywhere. the clouds parted, a single ray of sunshine (Google) illuminated the entrance to this forum. here I am, with all the other dart suckers trying to not break my toys.
I hope to find the help and guidance I need to be a MOPAR guy.
hope y'all can help. I'm gonna start scrolling.
I found the thread addressing the vacuum pump, I noticed the same smell in the cabin when I'm pulling in external air and no smell on recirculate. I was not aware of the coolant issue. since the issue with the vacuum pump is so infamous, is there, by chance, a step-by-step procedural video/checklist for partswappers like me?The 1.4L turbo engine and DDCT are infamous.
