When I bought this car the person I bought it from told me that the car was involved in a small fender bender and broke the headlights assembly. He replaced the headlights assembly. Now, every time I start the car it tells me that the hi-beam lights are out, but they are not out. I read that the OEM headlights are something like D3S or something like that and that it took the HID headlights. The headlights that are in it came with the assemblies I guess and they are an oddball headlight an H9. How do I fix the issue of it telling me the hi-beams are out? Do I just replace the headlights and get the OEM headlights?

The HID headlight assembly is different from the standard halogen headlight assembly. The HID version has a ballast and requires a different BCM that has fuses for the ballasts. You can't just put ina different bulb. You will need to get the correct headlight assembly.
