Its your money, your car.... everyone is different.... I just did a PLC dart into what would of been like one of the SRT concepts showed by mopar using all mopar parts and the one thing that made the biggest improvement by far on my deal is the computer as far as mods go. It will kill my current trans so im looking into a better rebuild kit and if any aftermarket parts will help.
The biggest thing I could think to strive for is if your going to make it look hellcat like do it as much as mopar would vs a ragged out ricer look with low quality parts and low quality paint work.
I guess what my point is, do mopar proud if your going to build something they didnt and make it look like it could of been massed produced or it might get lumped into that ragged out ricer category which does not further the cause. Dont know the power ouput a hellcat dart would expect to be but youd have to do soemthing to at least make it perform better... what are you statarting with?..... Just looked.... the 2.0 would be a no go for me from the gate, the little turbo motor or 2.4 would be the one id pick and never the 2.0.
What color is your car, you know hellcats mostly are attractive colors. My main reason to do my dart like a SRT is I was lucky enough to find the only darts with the same color code as the SRT cars. Its the same as my hellcat charger, PLC.
I got two computers from a friend at chrysler and a billet trunk emblem vs the plastic as sold to the public and again with all the other mods, the computer is where the power comes from by far. I do have a hood mod to do yet but everything im doing is 95% all mopar parts. A bit of aftermarket to fab up the fresh air to the airbox and the other side has fresh air to the oil cooler at the fog light inlets
Im one the fence on mine but it gets more looks in public then my hellcat does for some reason. Ive not done the side sills yet because ive the bigger brakes for it.
Do a good job and make it look good and perform better then a production dart and people will like it.
