I didn't know I had one !?, but can you think of any other purpose for a cord with a 3-prong plug just beside the brake fluid reservoir ?

I can't! Is there just a block heater option by itself or is it part of a cold weather group?

Why not? You live in Canada! Might as well.

where does that cord run to? I bought an aftermarket heater and have no idea where it goes on the motor.

Freeze plugs are on the back of the engine. You have to remove one of the factory freeze plugs. Drain the coolant first. Then you will need a special tool like the UView Airlift to refill the coolant. You can reuse the coolant since it is supposed to last 150k miles or 10 years.
