Mechanic did a test and they claim it's leaking inside the car. So the unit was replaced.

But still same issue, When I turn off the car and open the door there is a brief moment of freon. Is there a component that would leak a little only when the car is turned off?

There is never a freon smell in the car while driving.

What unit was replaced? What do you mean by a brief moment of freon? Do you get cold air from the vents?

Inside the car? Would need to be the evap, which is inside the dash and requires about 10h of service to get to. Do yourself and favor and stop using the ac.
