My 16 Dart GT - 6 speed manual - 60,000 miles - It's always garage kept has never seen a gravel road very well maintained, always clean fresh oil not cheap oil Castrol Edge an Wix filter it doesn't burn oil at all. So It's not the low oil warning issue I hear about alot. This just recently started and it's not all the time, it's really a sporadic idle issue. I start my car and RPMs bounce from 700rpm - 1500rpm constantly at idle. Also it can start acting up with no warning, I have heat in my garage so warm or cold my dart doesn't care it still will have the issue. If I turn off the car and restart it or disconnect the battery it will run perfect again immediately after until it sits over night until the next day or so, it will run great and then decides to piss me off again and repeat the cycle. Now it happens more often like everyday. If at normal running temp and it starts the idle issue at a light or whatever, it will drop down to 400rpm an bounce between 400 and 1000 but it has never stalled on me seems like it is going to soon because If I don't pull over and restart the car it will run like a geo metro motor very sluggish like ac is on full blast or I lost a cylinder, never happens twice in a day. Is it just me or does it sound like the ignition coils and sparky plug issue? If you have any ideas on this issue please comment. First I'm going to try the simple fix changing the ignition coils and Spark Plugs. I'll update when I figure this out.

Please scan for codes and post the code numbers before replacing anything. Could be the MultiAir.

I don't have any codes on my scanner no check engine light either but Plugs and coils need changed anyway might as well try it. But what's the multi air issue? I looked at every vaccum line all tight idk it's weird bud. Checked all the wires I could even the mounts.

MultiAir module controls intake valves. Very common for oil control or solenoids to get wonky over 80,000 miles. Search.

Check engine light is on it happened twice on the way home about to scan it real quick hopefully it's something simple wish me and Benjamin Bluford Blue "yeah I named mine after Bubba" it's really my best good friend so fingers crossed. Also this forum is awesome everyone helps each other with Dart Issues.
Thank you all for reaching out giving a fellow Darter some good tips and advice I really appreciate that. I never thought about the MultiAir that makes sense it could cause this issue. Extended warranty wasn't Extended long enough also I just paid it off in July that's how i imagined it going when I drove it off the lot 7 years ago, it's gonna start having issues costing me Benjamins living up to its nickname already.

The idle was jumping every day at least 5 times until this fix. Today still running smooth glad I chose the easiest thing to change first . idle problem is gone i really hope if it happens to you its a easy fix like mine was. If not it's probably a MultiAir problem.

If the oil pressure sensor connector was filled with oil, the plastic part of the sensor has a crack and needs to be replaced. Use a Mopar sensor for best reliability.

Thanks for the heads up I really appreciate it. I'm ordering a new one today even if it looks ok. I'd rather just change it while im under the car it's a pain to change because of the sensors location if you don't have a lift. I'll definitely use a Mopar sensor, others are cheap bs and in my experience don't buy cheap sensors. Most likely you'll have to buy another in a week or so if it works. The cheap plastic casing will probably break when installing or the fitting is wrong or the car can't recognize it so they dont last.
