Does anybody simply have a thought? Will go into every other gear, but today won't go into 5th. Appreciate it.

No it doesn't. All other gears it does. Appreciate the response.

That's good. That would point more toward a linkage issue rather than an internal mechanical issue. Check where the shifter cables attach to the shifter assembly (under the boot), and where they attach at the top of the transmission. Look for worn or missing bushings or retainer clips that might prevent the full range of movement at the transmission.
