Hello everyone! I've been creeping on this forum for a while but decided to make an account today because I am having a major issue!
I have a 2013 Dodge Dart Ralleye. Had her over a year now and no major problems! She is high mileage 155300~ as I drive her for work.
Recently took a trip to Florida from Nebraska. Had her evaluated before I left and all she needed was blades and tires.
I got to Florida without any problems. I was driving and suddenly my traction control light came on. It wasn't raining. I wasnt too far from my final destination so I parked and came back out roughly an hour later and the light has been off since then.
Flash forward to my drive back. I had her evaluated and oil changed before I left and again she was fine.
I'm about 100 miles away from home and my check engine comes on and it kicks me out of cruise.
I made it home and left her turned off. Woke up, started her up to run some errands & light is still on. So I took it to TiresPlus and they said it wasn't anything major so they shut the light off for me.
I had ran almost all my errands and was turning out of the parking lot when I heard a loud thunk and my check engine light and "service transmission " light came on. I was able to drive her to the transmission specialist near my house. She could hardly go the speed limit. I made an appointment with them and when I came out she started just fine. I put her in reverse and she wouldn't move.
It said, "gear shift unavailable, switch to neutral". I went back into the TS and they told me it sounds like the transmission recall (I'm forgetting the acronym). Called the dealer and I'm scheduled to get it fixed today.
I left her at the Transmission place overnight. Went to see how she was doing before tow truck came and she reversed fine. I get out to the main road and the lights come back on. So I pulled into the gas station and she told me she was "too hot" and the Traction control light came on. She was revving but moving maybe 5mph. Can anyone provide any insight? Anyone with a similar experience? Please tell me the dealership will take care of it & all the lights will turn off. They're trying to charge me 100$/ per light! (Check engine, traction, overheating) . I told them no thanks just fix the recall and we can go from there.
Btw - car was just fine, this is literally out of nowhere.
My car WAS stuck in park about 2 weeks as go. Again, out of nowhere! 600$ to fix. Wondering if it has anything to do with the recall? If I can be reimbursed?
Thx

1.4L, 2.0L, or 2.4L? Which transmission DDCT, 6F24 Powertech, or manual? What are the codes? So many possibilities and no details that would help.

As someone who owns a 2013 Dodge Dart Rallye that must have been built the day after a 3 day weekend, I can offer a little advice.

1) buy a bluetooth code scanner. $20 one time with the free torque app will save you a lot of money and headaches later.
2) test your battery any time you have multiple check engine lights or other electrical issues that seem unrelated -- I had an issue with my AC, stereo, and ABS that occurred simultaneously, and it turned out to be a battery issue.
