My wife's dart has had a strange issue for a while now. It only occurs during the summer months but after driving the engine is up to temp and the engine oil has had time to get hot while sitting in traffic or at stop lights the oil light will flash then go out flash and go out until you accelerate or increase the rpm's. Now here is the interesting part she took it to the dealer while it was still under warranty. The put a oil pressure gauge on it and determined it was losing oil pressure at idle so they replaced the pump and pick up but vehicle still does the same thing so I wonder if the issue was not the oil pump maybe the sensor ? Even runs smooth and no knocking. Oil is changed every 5000 miles with correct weight using Mobil 1. Oil comes out very clean. Any else experiences this problem

The oil pressure at idle should be 4 psi. at a minimum. At 3000 rpm the pressure should be 25 - 80 psi. Did they tell you what the oil pressure was? It is possible the sensor is failing. Do you see any oil seeping at the sensor? The plastic part of the connector can crack and cause what you are seeing. The sensor on a 2.0L engine is just behind the passenger side of the head.

Hi my name's Kevin I own a 2016 dart with 2.4 mines a Manuel what I've seen from other owners is these engines burn oil mine does not for one reason i disabled the Active grill shutter. I first bought the car could not figure out why it was so hot (live in Phoenix az) this shutter closes off air passage through radiator and cuts cooling of engine in half to save on aerodynamics and for doing it for almost a year now I've seen no difference in fuel economy disabling this feature the oil does not burn off by blowby it's burns off by vaporization cuz the engine gets so gotta under normal operating temps I eliminated this and my car burns no oil now
