Our 1957 Chrysler 300C Coupe.

The car was originally owned by Scott Newhall [Editor of the SF Chronicle in the 50's-60's, Owner of the 1961 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance Best of Show winning '30 Packard Roadster, Failed 1971 SF mayoral candidate, and great-grandson of the founder of the California gold rush town of Newhall (present day "Magic Mountain" amusement park)].

We purchased the car from its 2nd owner in 1977.

The car was a "DRIVER" (vice a 100 point Concours show piece) and its "restoration" included:

* only minor work on the original 392ci HEMI
* rebuilt TorqueFlite (push-button) automatic transmission
* rebuilt suspension & braking system
* minor bodywork (& lots of blocking).
* fresh "Jet Black" paint.
* rechromed most brightwork and polished stainless
* Gary Goers repro leather seating & headliner
* Chrysler (Motor Rim) wire wheels & wide whitewalls
* etc.

I sold the car to its current owner in 1995. (see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2x6dlrLGmUw)

NOTE: This car was part of the "FINS: Form Without Function" exhibit at the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles (February 2013 - February 2014) .
