ACMPerformance is a friend of mine who often used the BT catch cans but did not like the steel wool medium and did not like the way you had to remove theirs to empty it. so he came up with the one I have - can see it here ACM Performance but now he and BT are having issues because they now offer a can almost exactly like his but released almost a year or so after he did his. and all catch cans work with all engines. just may need different hose lengths I have a Big Bully and an ACM for my 2.0 and an ACM for my 2.4

Thats super lame... does he have the patent on his can? But I know the medium issue you are talking about and yeah I can see when those can have a screen or mesh inside that they would break down and fall apart... Thats why im really anal about which can im going with cause I want one that works with turbo engines and that is not going to fall apart!

yes he does - as far as I know. I think BT ordered one of his and basically copied it. I mean look at theirs here - https://www.custombilletstore.net/He...an_p/20010.htm - the one difference is that with the ACM one, there is a set screw on top that allows the can to be removed from the cylindrical bracket.

Yeah, then I think if im correct it doesnt not break any rules with the patent department... As long as there is something different about it then i dont think it will raise red flags... even though it is kinda screwing your buddy.

One big thing that i noticed about BT which would make me NOT want to buy their product is that it DOES NOT show the baffling system in any pictures... and for all I know the can is empty inside.

the one I did see, was not the same as ACM's it was a simple screen - not sure if they changed it at all though.

Yeah even still, thats pretty crappy... AT least ask the permission of the original designer before copying his idea... But I agree with you on the mesh screen or steel wool... The only reason Ive used it in my current catch can is because the baffling system is NOT very good... If ECS gets these other catch cans in shortly then I will be ordering one of those!

      *EDIT*

So, I ordered the ECS Tuning catch can along with the fittings I will need to make it work correctly... Unfortunately, FEDEX decided that making something that is 6 hours away take 2 weeks to ship was a good idea... Im stuck waiting until this Wednesday to get my catch can. I already have my fittings!

Sorry for the bump. Did having to use the 2 fittings together take up too much space? Looking to add a can onto the line running to the intake manifold due to finding oil on my map sensor. Any pics or links to your setup would help a lot, thanks.

No, it fits great and catches a really good amount of oil!

I'll try to take some pictures, when I'm swapping my throttle body.

Appreciate it. Catch can and hardware are in the mail now. Trying to convince myself to get the hpsi vacuum hose kit but want to make sure its enough hose to use where I'll have the can mounted. Waiting till I change my valve seals and some gaskets cause of oil leaking when braking. You replacing with stock throttle body or the mpx bored?

I am replacing the MPx one I have currently that is causing a CEL and flashing tps light... Still waiting on the shipment email from them since they are testing a new one before they send it.
