      U-Connect and Touch Screen behavior

      Not a critical issue BUT; twice in January 2019 and once last week my radio screen turned into a grainy pixelated look, flashed a message "No Signal, see dealer" for 2 seconds, then turned off, then turned back on as if nothing happened.

      I have not lost any functionality of radio, Sirius, aux inputs , voice or phone. I mentioned it to the dealer at last oil change and he said they really cant do anything unless the unit does a full failure.

      Your thoughts?

      I had a similar issue. I started my car and the radio screen never turned on. The radio was playing the last station I was on, but It would not change the volume or stations with the knobs or steering wheel controls. Then the next time I started it, it worked OK and has never done it since. I got a notice about the warranty being extended to 10 years/100,000 miles on the touch screen unit, maybe for these issues?

      Typical touchscreen fault. Sometimes it's solid white, sometimes it turned off and black, sometimes it locks all HVAC and radio controls, sometimes it's pixelated. The normal faults restart the touchscreen after a few seconds, the bad faults require a battery disconnect to restart.

      Adding ah aftermarket ground wire has all but eliminated the touchscreen faults. I have had 1 reboot since installing them. Before the ground wire, I would have already had 10 reboots in the same time period.

      It's a grounding issue. The circuit is not complete so it enters a loop and causes the fault. Take a look at the ground on the drivers side engine bay, you will see it is completely covered in paint.

      Did you just replace/repair that ground wire, or did you add another one?

      If you have a chance could you take a pic of that part of engine bay zoomed in and zoomed out? I appreciate the input.
