To save yourself some trouble buy a presenter bracket (68170234AA) and just break off those seven tabs on the original presenter bracket. I spent a lot of time playing with those. Once the dust shield is off, disconnect the cables from the old latch.

Pay attention to where the cables go and attach them to the new latch (6817250AA). Snap on the presenter bracket/dust shield. Slide the bracket onto the carrier plate.

Attach the lock rod (68170232AA) to the handle bracket rod adapter rod clip.

Attach to other end of the lock rod to the rod clip on the latch lever.

Reattach the window channel to the latch. Make sure you reconnect the connector for the latch.

Work the carrier plate back into the door. Surprisingly it goes in easier than how it came out. Install the three screws to the latch. Make sure the door handle bracket is in it's place. There is a little tab that needs to be outside.

Install the small black Torx screw that's under the handle.

Install the ten 10mm bolts for the carrier plate.

Install the torx screw for the window channel.

Install the window motor with the 3 Torx screws. Reconnect the connector for the window motor.

Temporarily connect the switch pod. Install the door glass by placing the front down vertically in the door and gradually rotate horizontally until you feel it's back in the channels. Run the window up switch until you see the bolt holes in the acces holes. Use a magnetic socket or grease in your socket to make sure you don't lose the bolts inside the door. The longer bolt goes into the front hole. Torque the window glass bolts to 44 inch pounds. I only went to 40 inch pounds because it seemed almost too tight and the last thing I wanted to do was break the glass.

      Reinstall the inside weatherstrip.
Install the outside door handle opposite of how it came off.

Install the lock cylinder into the knob.

Install the knob gasket if it was removed and install the knob. Test the door handle and lock with a key.

Connect the side view mirror connector and reconnect the zip ties.

Plug up the glass access covers.

Disconnect the switch pod so you can install the door panel.

I lubed all the fasteners for the door panel with a little silicone grease so it will be easier if I ever have to remove the panel.

Install the inside door handle. Make sure everything you took off is back.

Line up the top of the door panel with the inside weatherstrip groove and push it down. Check that all the fasteners line up. Make sure the switch pod connector is in the hole and not under the panel. Tap each fastener down with your fist.

Install the trim piece for the inside of the side view mirror.

      Install the switch pod.

Install the fasteners behind the inside door handle and in the door pull pocket.

      Replace the trim pieces.

      Make sure everything works.

Here is a "how to" for those that want to do their own lock cylinder.

The doorlock cylinder (68237148AA) comes with these parts.

Tumblers and springs need to be installed to make it work. In order to know what tumblers to use, you need to know the key code or the sequence of cut depths of the key. Even though the M series codes have 8 cuts, there are only 7 tumblers in a door lock. Only the last seven cuts from the code are used. There is a database of 2,618 different possible key codes for the M series.

Size: 64.2 KB

For example M0458 translates to 11334432. A "1" is no cut and a "4" is the deepest cut. The sequence of cuts starts at the head of the key and the last cut is at the tip. The first "1" does not have a slot in the inner casting of the lock cylinder. To key the lock for this key, you need the following 7 tumblers in this order:
      1, 3, 3, 4, 4, 3, and 2
      Name: dartlock2.jpg
Views: 54
Size: 116.9 KB

The inner casting has 7 slots. 4 slots on the top of inner casting are wider and 3 slots on the underside of the casting are wider. The springs and tumblers are inserted alternately top, then bottom, and so on.

When the key is inserted, the tumblers move to where they are even with inner casting if the tumblers and springs were inserted correctly.

The inner casting can be inserted into the outer casting and it should turn freely.

This pic is from an old pdf for the old L series keys. Same depths and spacing as the M series. Use it to figure out which tumblers you would need. The tumblers are stamped 1, 2, 3, or 4. Springs are all the same.

If you are not sure you are reading your key correctly, send a pic of your key to me at alpinegreenneon at neons dot org. Even if you are not planning to do this but want to know your key code in case you ever lock yourself out, there is no charge for this and I keep no records of key codes.

Found some Y170 keys that I could take apart and cut. Most have a plastic head that is too thick to fit in my cutter. The heads on these split and have small screws inside to remove the blade. I also finally got some touch up paint so we can easily tell which key is for which Dart. I'm still trying to get up the courage to try to program the keys with alfaOBD. I have read where some key blanks are not able to be programmed.

      Update:
I finally decided to program the new keys with alfaOBD and it worked like a charm!
Once the radio Frequency Hub module is selected, touch the Fiat open hood icon, then Select procedure to start. Scroll down to "Program Ignition FOBIKs Baseline System". Enter the 4 digit PIN for your Dart. Remove the original ignition key and insert the new key to program and leave the key in the OFF position. Press Start and wait until it says Completed. That's all there is to it.
I also did this with my 2018 RAM and was able to add two new keys for it. The 2018 RAM has a new Security Gateway module that requires a special Security bypass cable to even access the DLC.
The key blanks I used were from this eBay ad:
      https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_fro...w=282953149876
These keys can be carefully pried apart to remove the key blade so it can be easily cut on just about any key cutter.

Update, I finally found a wrecked Dart with a trunk latch. There is no way to add a lock cylinder to a Dart trunk latch. The button on the dash works just fine. The key needs to be inserted in the ignition for the door buttons to work. The BCM doesn't like that a key is used in the lock and somehow disables the buttons until it sees a key in the ignition.
