Lots of misinformation in that autonews article comments. You can tell most of those posters dont own a Dart and have never driven one.

So much for all the talk about an SRT Dart. Kinda feels like having a lover break up with you! But, I'm keeping mine. 2013 GT, love it!!!
is Hoping for a new compact model
Same here. I like the exterior of the Focus, but the interior is the most confusing and chaotic jumble of buttons and switches I've ever seen. That and all the chiseled edges was a turnoff for me as well. The Dart's interior is so much cleaner-looking and better laid out.

I was wondering though about the parts availability questions raised earlier.Given that the current Cherokee is built off the same platform as the Dart, there has to be quite a bit of overlap in parts with those vehicles in all areas of production, which I would think would help with many items being available in the future.
That new model Cherokee is so hideous looking to me that I have never bothered looking at one,but is selling well.Give me the old boxy one with a body on frame please.
is is wishing he was driving...
Other than the 2.4L engine, and maybe some brake/wheel assembly parts, the overlap between the Cherokee and the Dart in terms of parts is actually pretty close to zero. They're based on the same basic CUSW architecture, but otherwise... the Dart, Cherokee, and 200 are all fairly different.

There are -some- parts that are the same most of the time. For example, the Jeep Compass, Jeep Patriot & Dodge Caliber, were all on the same platform. Just like the Jeep Cherokee, the Dart, and the 200 are.
