Your wife has better taste than mine. My wife prefers her big ol' 2014 Grand Caravan, which is a soulless beast of burden.

I really like to read that this kind of enthusiasm still exists for the Dart.Living less than a hour away from the Belvidere,Ill. assembly plant, the car is not seen often around here. But I have noticed a few more the past year or so,but it is disappointing that after the huge initial launch the car has met such a lackluster reception from the auto press and buyers in general.
I really like my Dart, enough to where I am planning on keeping it.Get rid of the crummy OEM tires and consider the extended warranty.I might have a collectors item before it is all over.

I recently posted for suggestions on new tires for mine -- as it is getting near that time -- and I got some good suggestions -- though I'm still up for more.
I just posted for thoughts on the extended warranty as well. Should I or shouldn't I?

I still luv my Dart -- and I'm rather particular about vehicles -- but IMHO they got it right with this one.
      -- It looks good.
      -- It's reasonably peppy.
-- It gets awesome gas mileage.
-- It's got cool features, such as the touch screen, etc.

Get rid of the crummy OEM tires. I hope that Michelin makes a 17" tire that works well on that car. I have had good luck with there Defender model on my Chevy Cruze, so far.

When I bought mine I was unaware that the initial launch was such a failure. I simply liked the looks of the Dart above everything else out there and went with it. But unfortunately Dodge learned the hard way about the old saying "you never get a second chance to make a good first impression". Buyers like me who waited to check out the Dart until two years after the initial rollout were a rarity, and we missed the screw-ups that turned off most of the early would-buyers. My sister-in-law was one of those early buyers, and she and her husband had so many issues with their early 2013 that they were actually glad when it got totaled just months later. The last time I spoke with them they were actually amazed that I've had almost no issues with mine. Unfortunately they're the kind of people who will never trust another FCA product again, so that failure to make a good first impression with so many buyers is going to haunt FCA for many years to come.

I have a deep and abiding love enjoyment in driving my Dart. I've said this a number of times I know, however, I have had a lot of cars, faster, stronger, bigger, smaller.....all kinds. I have never driven a car as much fun to drive, as satisfying as my Dart. Heaven forbid anything happens to it, but if it does, I'll get another one....I love it! Simple.

Despite what the "experts" seem to think we still love our Dart. Still the road trip ride of choice, room enough for airport pickup's comfy enough with heated seats and wheel for cold weather around town. Any problem we had was taken care of by the dealer. She still has a look that makes me smile, what is not to love about that.
