Disturbing this is. I feel there will have to be some sort of lawsuit that will have to go though so that if you want to mess with your car, that this can be disabled.

Hi. I have read all this thread and got some very useful information from here. But has anybody tried to change country code? And what it actually does?
I changed combined rear lighting feature in car configuration to not enabled, ran proxy alignment sucessfully, but don`t see any changes. Actually if you disable combined rear lighting, it just disables rear turn indicators , brake lights remain working. That`s the way it works on RAM trucks and Jeep Grand Cherokee, done this several times, but Dart is completely different. I need this feature to convert lighting to European specs. Maybe the country code is involved in some way and overrides my configuration changes.
By the way has somebody disabled Canadian DRL-s on Dart?

One nice thing about alfaOBD is that changes can be reversed. Most here that use alfaOBD including me, use it for limited purposes like programming keys, disabling TPMS, and running a PROXI after doing upgrades. I'm sure you are aware of being able to first copy the existing configuration and of the importance of making notes of the changes you make. The Ram and Jeep forums seem much more aggressive trying to find out what works compared to this forum. I'm surprised more has not been tried here especially in the area of lighting. Go for it and let us know.

I’ve turned off the DRL on my Canadian dart just to check that it works. You’ll need to disable it under the car configuration. I couldn’t get the menu option to enable/disable it to work on the 8.4. The option shows up but doesn’t do anything. You’ll need to manually enable/disable it using Alfaobd

Thanks for response. I`ll try to do some more changes and let you guys know if I find out something or screw up everything. It makes me always nervous when I`m experimenting on customers cars. But some more Darts are coming in soon and some Chrysler 200-s. And its nice to find out a magic shortcut what brings me to the result with less job.
By the way, I`m not using OBDlink MX adapter as most of you have, but PC app and very good quality switchable ELM 327 from OHP Tools. Its usually used with Forscan app (similar functionality as AlfaOBD for Ford cars, you can reprogram almost everything) The switch is basicly a built in blue adapter. You can switch between HSCAN and MSCAN. It has been working without any issues on AlfaObd and had no problems performing proxy alignment as well.

I also have the AlfaOBD program and it seems to be a godsend... as you can do any type of re-learn or diagnostic program that they will do at a dealership! I helped a former member here and current admin on the Darts of Merica page on FB do a Proxi alignment as he swapped from the analog dash to the digital dash and was dealing with a flashing odometer... Super easy, just take your time and read through all directions from the app and everything should work perfectly!

Just got my OBDLink MX. Got it supper cheap. So cheap I was worried it might be a knock off lol

This made me think, are there any MX knock off floating around? Mine came with box and everything looks perfectly normal, quick start guide and all, but the sticker on the end is not Full color like I see on the guide. The MX is red, but the Icons above, Power/ OBD ect are black and white.

Did you get the bluetooth version? WiFi version is not supported. The colors on the quick start are the colored LEDs inside. Want to share how cheap? or where you purchased?

Yes, Bluetooth version. I got it on ebay for 60.00 shipped, which seemed pretty cheap to me as the next closest was 84.00. In Canada they're Stupid $'s! Unfortunately, I got it from vendor who sells everything at random. So it was the only one he had

OK, so makes perfect sense that when not in use there are no colored light on lol

So what's the + version? Just checked ebay and there's 2 OBDLink+'s for 60.00 and free shipping.

According to the Ram alfaOBD thread, the + version also works.
