There isn’t too much new information on this subject. biggestjohn and other members did a great job at pioneering this upgrade. The only thing I haven’t seen yet in the TFT threads is the options in the 8.4 screen that affect the TFT. Basically this thread is about getting most of this information in one place.

Compared to the RB5 and NAV antenna install this was very easy. It is vary strait forward.

PART NUMBERS:

1-68140293AB - 6 button steering wheel switch – needed to control all functions on the TFT display

56054662AA – TFT Display – Manufacture Date: 19 July 2013 – Out of a 2.4L 6 speed Manual – VIN 1C3CDFCB3DD

05091894AE – TFT Display – Manufacture Date: 21 Nov 2012 – Out of a 2.0L 6 speed Auto – VIN 1C3CDFCA7DD

AFTER INSTALL:

An IPC proxy alignment is required – Lets your car know that the TFT is installed and stops the miles from flashing. It will not correct the miles if there is a difference.

UCONNECT 8.4 SCREEN OPTIONS FOR TFT:

(What I could find)

Units: US/Metric – Changes the TFT display units from US to Metric. Exception: MPH is changed with in the TFT

Navigation Turn By Turn in the Instrument Cluster: Enables turn by turn navigation on NAV/TFT equipped cars.

I finally received my EVIC switch. I have a feel I might of gotten the TFT display. I seen several different part numbers, my is 56054668AC. Under the vehicle info I have coolant temp, oil temp, tire pressure and oil life. The TFT came from a 2014 limited, I have 2013 rallye. The oil life doesn't seem to be working, just says 0% and can't be reset. Also I get no indication that the cruise control is on, but it does work. Could this be a proxy issue, I did have a proxy alignment done, or the wrong cluster. When I bought it said it was for a 13/14 dart. Gauge Speedometer Auto part Measuring instrument Tachometer

From what I've read in other threads. The oil life indicator was introduced in 2014. 2013s do not have that functionality which is why it shows up as 0 on your TFT

You can get it corrected you just have to find a speedometer shop that can reprogram the cluster. Otherwise cost wise might want to look for an original style cluster when you get towards the time of replacing that might have more miles then just drive it with the TFT installed until it catches up then swap.

#102 ·
No the miles are stored in the IPC. IT will be whatever miles it had when you removed it.

#104 ·
Your best bet is to find one with slightly more miles than you have on your car. When you hit that mileage install it.
This was my original plan but I've had trouble tracking down a 2014 TFT with more miles then I currently have. I do have one from a 2013 with less miles that I was planning on installing till then.

One other thing I was wondering is since the odometer won't be accurate, will the trip meters still work? If so I could easily track my mileage that way instead of pulling it from the computer.

#108 ·
Have you had it done. Or just heard about it. My dealer can't, they tried. Even called Chrysler and they told the dealer to stop what they were trying to do.

#115 ·
Hey everyone! I just bought a tft cluster and I'm looking to do the swap. Can somebody please point in the direction of who you all, if any, have used to adjust the mileage? The one I have currently has 53k on it and my car is at 11k. It will be a long time before I reach the latter so I wanted to go ahead and swap it in and try my best to not have a difference. Any information would be greatly appreciated!

#117 ·
That's the same company that did mine. 1 week from me dropping it off at USPS and it showing back up at my door.:)

#119 ·
This is exactly what I was looking and hoping for! Thank you all very much!
There's going to be a Mopar car show in Culpeper on Sunday. Not sure if it's still a "go" or not. I just emailed them to find out. If it's a go, you should come by.

#121 ·
About to send my cluster off to tvandnav2go to get my mileage adjusted and was wondering...once I install the cluster, the mileage will go up as I drive prior to getting the proxy alignment, right? I'm sure it does, just want to be sure since I'm not sure how quickly I'll be able to get to the dealership to get it done.

#123 ·
One last question! I got my cluster back, but haven't put it in yet. I went ahead and installed the new 6 button evic switch though. With the new switch though, all the buttons seem to work except for the 2 new ones on the right, and the 2 arrow buttons on the left work just like they did on the original switch. Will these all work as they should once I install the cluster, or after I get the proxy alignment done?

#127 ·
I'm interested in this upgrade as well. I took the information I learned from this forum and spoke to technicians at my local Dodge dealership. They looked at me as if I had a horn growing out of my forehead...it would void the warranty...etc. What has been your experiences...?

#128 ·
Had them explain HOW it would void the warranty as it is an OEM part installed in a car that has this as an option. The only thing the dealer was wondering about when I did it was how were they going to note the mileage in the new cluster since it didn't match.

You could get the TFT, have the mileage adjusted, I believe there is a place in New York that does it for about $125. Install the new cluster yourself then just go to a dealer for a proxi.

There is absolutely NO reason doing this should void the warranty.

#129 ·
Actual mileage can be pulled from the cars computer regardless of what the TFT display's. This is the one reason I paid the extra 120.00 just to let them install it for me. I got a TFT with more miles, and actually pulled into the service dept the day of my appointment after driving it around for the last few miles so when I pulled into the service department the mileage on my car matches what is on the TFT cluster I purchased. This way when they check it in the invoice shows the mileage of the car as it came in, then it showed the mileage of the car on its way out.

Since I have had TFT installed, I've taken it back in for service, and they replaced the Turbo under the power train warranty, no questions. The only thing they would not warranty is the actual TFT itself, they would warranty their labor if the problem was due to their install but if the part fails thats on me.

You show 2 different TFT displays. Why do you have 2 different displays? Did one not work? Do you have en extra to sell?

#131 ·
One of the things with the display's which can seem to be an issue is if you have a a 2013, you want a 2013 cluster, I think if you have a 2014 or better you just want a 2014 or better cluster, reasoning is if you have a 2013 and get a 2014 cluster, the 2014 cluster has the oil life monitor which the 2013 has so that page of the display doesnt work, where as if you have 2014 and get a 2013 cluster you won't get that oil life page AFAIK. Also atleast for us in the 2013's I don't get a oil change notification so I have to pay attention to that other than that everything else has worked.

Javelin3o4,

thanks for your comment, as this situation is where I am at... '13 dart & the only TFT after one week of searching every avenue I could think of would be out of a 2014 Dart.... I understand about the inoperable oil monitoring system display confusion but to your knowledge are there any other features that will not operate on the display?

I just bought a new TFT. I believe it only has a few thousand miles on it. My current speedometer shows 27k miles. So, if the dealer does the proxy fix, it won't adjust my miles to my current miles? Will this void the warranty??

#142 · (Edited)
Proxy doesnt fix the mileage the mileage is not only stored in the car's computer but also in the TFT. So if your car has 27K and the TFT comes off a car with 6K, when you put it in your car it will say 6K, however the dealer can pull the actual mileage from the computer. As far as the warranty, it shouldnt be we all know how dealers can some times be. Which is why I made sure my car and cluster matched and just let them install it so I could have a Dodge service invoice with the mileage of my car at check in and check out. I have not had any issues as far as warranty and my dealer told me that they would warranty their labor but not the TFT if it fails which is obvious and fine.

Me personally if I found a compatible cluster with the lower miles than my car I would just bite the bullet and send it out to tvandnavtogo.com and have them program it to something a little over my cars current mileage to give them time to program it and ship it back, then slap it in when the two match then go get the proxy.

Also see SkinnyP's post, I couldnt recall his username, but yeah not only oil life monitor but cruise control status if you slap something other than a 2013 cluster into a 2013.

#141 ·
I have a 2013 and got a TFT for a 2014. The cruise indictor did not work. Got a 2013 TFT and that worked fine. I just never get the oil change notice.
