Has anybody been brave enough to buy one of the Chinese clones of the Witech Pod yet?
Chrysler Diagnostic Tool Witech VCI Pod | eBay
I have one of the clones, it works just like a real one. It doesn't have wifi or Bluetooth, but usb and Ethernet work perfectly. It comes with a slightly older version of witech (v13.03.38) so I downloaded v14.01.20 and installed it and it works fine. v14.01.20 includes a OS upgrade for the VCI POD itself and I was worried it would fail and brick the pod, but it installed perfectly fine on the pod. I the pod went from system version 3.x.x to 4.x.x (I can't remember the exact version numbers). I am really pleasantly surprised with this thing, I almost expected it to be fake which is why I ordered it through a website that holds my money in escrow and doesn't pay the seller until I get the product and am satisfied with it.

I ordered from www.aliexpress.com, from seller Shenzhen Zeus Technology Co., Ltd. It's like buying from a 3rd party amazon seller, or from like ebay. They had the best price, and they hold your money in escrow and don't pay the seller until you have verified the order. I was really surprised when it shipped via DHL from China and was out for delivery the very next day! But DHL does have a major hub here in Ohio.

Also one of the neat things about the POD is that it is powered over the OBDII port, you only have to use the AC adapter when you want to use the POD when it's not plugged into the car (for like configuring the network settings of the POD).

Wow, that's really cool if it works!

It is kinda aggravating that a dealer can buy a genuine pod direct for $680 (they have to have a $1500 gateway already though). But if you try and source one yourself, genuine pods sell for $1500-$3000. However this generic pod works great for me.
