      I bought a second Valve cover so I could have it done without being without my car (also, I had the original cover with only 3 drainage channels). Paul - it's a super easy job, nothing I'm sure you couldn't do.
      It was however, a bit expensive. I wanted it to match my body colour (Pearl Blue Streak), so it took two different powdercoats to get it to match; A blue base coat, with a metallic flake gloss on top. It looks fantastic in person.

      I painted my fuse box cover yesterday. It came out great (except for the small scratch on the back corner where I dropped it afterwards *sigh*). It is truly red, unlike the engine cover which really looks more orange now. So strange. Used the same exact spray cans, same number of coats and even followed the same time frames for each coat. Only difference is I painted engine cover in my basement (more controlled environment) and painted the fuse cover in the garage. Very odd.

      At some point I will sand and give two more coats of red to the engine cover and see if that helps.

      No worries man, lol. I used high temp automotive primer first, forget which brand. Then I believe I used rustoleum high heat (2000 degrees) paint. Not 100% sure because I disposed of the can a while ago. It’s somewhat of a low gloss red, I’m pretty satisfied with it overall.

      I have not seen this in any stores around here, but that doesnt mean you wouldnt find it in Autozone, Oreillys, Home Depot, etc...

      Edit: It appears that the first link is for flat paint and im not seeing anything glossy!

      I did see a gloss clear coat of the Rustoleum High Temp (2000 degree) paint.

      Helpful tip..... Don't be lazy and grab toward the bottom, more flexible area of the engine cover when removing; especially in freezing temperatures.

      Also, this metallic red color basically has turned to orange.

      Finally got to fixing my engine cover, or at least fixing it correctly. I initially tried a quick fix using JB Weld Super Weld. It is like a super glue. Sanded and cleaned the area, gave it plenty of time to cure, but it cracked as soon as I put it back on the car.

      Come to find put that the cover is made out of a Zytel type material (or at least that is why I found researching the numbers on back of the cover) that does not bond to any type of glues.

      Did some research on Zytel bonding and most repairs seemed to involve heat/melting type solutions; was not about to go there. I did read in some other type of engine cover situations that people used the JB Weld 2 part epoxy. So I re-sanded the area to remove all of the other adhesive. Cleaned everything and went with a generous amount of JB Weld. I know it would take more time to sand and form to original shape, but would rather have a bigger material buildup and no crack then having the thing crack again.

      Gave it a full day to cure. It did take a bit to sand and I also used a file to help shape it, especially to reform the lip/ridge towards the edge.

      I then re-sanded the entire cover, cleaned with an industrial cleaner and alcohol. Taped the center area and then re-cleaned with industrial cleaner and alcohol just prior to paint. I used VHT engine enamel primer, paint and clear coat.
