You would be wrong. I'm pretty sure that every company that has taken a risk on making custom bodywork for the Dart has learned the hard way that claims of "OMG, if somebody makes one I will definitely buy it!" on a forum don't actually translate into real world sales when people realize just how much a part like this costs. And this was before the Dart was left to die a slow, painful death by FCA.

I spent almost 500 bucks on the rideskinz spoiler and I don't even like it so I'm willing to put the capitol down on custom made parts. This, along with wide body panels would be an instant buy from me. Though I agree this platform is dead and won't net any significant sales from big projects like this.

Which is unfortunate for guys like me who want to play with the platform

I guess we disagree. I'm with zuiquan1 that if the Mopar 3 piece spoiler had been executed like it should have been, way more people would have bought it. I feel that while it gets the job done it falls short, so I'll pass. I plan to keep my car relatively stock, but if I could find that bumper and wing, she'd be good to go. Even if I have to go fiberglass, I'm sure someone would be willing to tackle it. Look at the Grip Tuning hood for the SRT4, were talking very limited numbers. (And yes I know the Dart will never reach SRT4 aftermarket status, which is a shame.) This whole damn Dart situation makes me sad because it really is a great car!

Amen, I agree. And while I'm not planning to dump tens of thousands of dollars into this like my neon, I would be 100% committed to these two parts (well 4 since wing is 3 pieces). Again, it really is a shame of Mopar, create excellent parts, show them off, say they're coming (Scat pack stages) and then bail out. So sad!

      Hm.

Sooo... what's the material that the stock bumper skin is made of? It feels like it's probably a thin-ish polypropylene with some rubber fill? Shouldn't be too hard to fabricate it with a thermoforming process.

As it happens, I'm a plastic part design guy 20,000+ hours of 3D design and all the software.

What I don't have is a viable 3D scan of the stock part and the front end of the car, how it attaches, etc. I'm not willing to take my Dart apart to figure it all out, either.

If someone can get that much, then I can do the modeling and probably the mold and process design stuff too. Depending on what the materials and processes wind up being, I might even be able to handle the mold making, if it can be done with vacuum forming, at least. If not, then there may be some issues, potentially.

I am willing.!!?! I'm dying for that bumper cover. And I have some ideas for a simpler related product.

Get me a usable--by which I mean ACCURATE and fully detailed, and turned into a solid model rather than just a point cloud--3D scan of the parts we need to replace, and ideally the entire front end of the car as well. If the scanner can put out Inventor format, that'd be ideal, but I can work with Solidworks or STEP files, too.

Not even slightly a chance of that, and I wouldn't trust them to do it right even if they could.
