SXT 2.0L Oil Pressure Sensor Switch Replacement | Stuck!

Purchased a Chilton's DIY Repair Manual for a 2013 Dodge Dart. Instruction is given for removal and installation of a Oil Pressure Sensor for this 2.0 L Engine specifically. Looked simple enough - nope, gross distortion.

Tools set for use 1 1/16" / 27 mm Deep Impact Socket, Ratchet, and an OEM Replacement Part.

The Sensor is in the Cylinder Block, on the back. Mechanic wants to remove parts, that have stickers that say "DO NOT REMOVE THESE PARTS".

Had a hard time separating the Sensor from the harness. Deep socket does not cover the sensor while installed. Perfect fit with replacement part. 27 mm wrench don't help cause the arm is so long. Breaker bar don't fit. Recommended was a 6" Extension Bar, but there is no room for it at all. sigh.

Now that I understand what is what and where things go, how do I get this Oil Pressure Sensor out, coming in from the top, (not up through the underbody), and with what tool?

Are you sure you are removing the correct part? The FSM (factory service manual) says to remove it from the bottom after removing the belly pan. Check the wire colors on the connector. Should be pink/yellow, violet/gray, and dark blue/dark/green. Your auto parts store should have a deep oil pressure sensor socket that should work better than a plain 1 1/16 deep socket.

There is an oil temperature sensor in a similar location and has only two wires. These pics appear to have it backwards. The oil temp sensor is on the head and the oil pressure sensor is on the block.

Sorry to revive an old thread, but I'm a bit confused. My sister got a CEL for the oil pressure sensor. She has a 2.0L, but from what I continue to read, the sensor should be in the same location as the 2.4L. Is this correct?

I checked the same location that everyone else mentions should be the pressure sensor location, and it appears that it is the temp sensor to me. Wouldn't this indicate that the pictures you provided are correct for this car? Or is this the correct sensor?

(Same location as the guy mentions in this video: )

You are holding the oil temp sensor. Notice it has only 2 wires (dark blue/dark green and violet/brown) in the connector. The oil pressure sensor has 3 wires, pink/yellow, violet/gray, and dark blue/dark/green. Keep looking.

I'll be going back under there Sunday to take a look. But if you look at the first picture I posted (or this new picture) and look at the 2nd picture you just posted, the temp sensor is in the location of the pressure sensor, which is what confused me, and confused the dealership when I showed them the pictures/video of the sensor as well.

I'll let you know when I find it!

Finally found and replaced the sensor. Cleared CEL, and it came back the next day (P0520). Feel like I'm beating my head against a wall lol.

Did you ever get this problem solved? I have the same code and am wondering if I should change mine or search elsewhere in car. Oil is fine, filter also, 24,000 on a 2013 2.0, can't imagine the sensor is bad or something else is, cause car is well maintained. Anybody????

Replaced it on my sister's car. No CEL since. Room is very tight. I personally wasn't able to get a deep socket up there like others, but a ratcheting wrench worked perfectly.

Ok now my fiancé’s got this code on her 13 Dodge Dart. I bought the sensor and can’t find it. I’ve never worked on this thing. Somebody help!
