- The new 2013 Dodge Dart registry takes a page from the traditional bridal playbook by providing a unique way to raise money toward the purchase of a Dart.
- Instead of pots and pans, participants can fund specific parts of the Dart, such as a steering wheel, seat or engine.
- The Dodge Dart registry launches January 20 with a new 30-second commercial titled "How to Change Buying Cars Forever."
"Brides and grooms have been doing it for years," said Chrysler in a statement. "Now it's easier than ever for new car buyers, too."

In a press conference today at the Detroit Auto Show, Sergio Marchionne acknowledged that the 2013 Dodge Dart has been something of a sales disappointment for the company. Marchionne places the blame for the weak sales on the Dart’s available transmissions. He described the six-speed manual and the six-speed dual-clutch automatic that came shortly after as “not the ideal solution for this market." That was the biggest complaint across the auto blogosphere when the Dart launched and Sergio pretty much agreed with that today.
All is not lost though because the Dart will eventually see the ZF-sourced nine-speed automatic gearbox that will be seen first in the replacement for the Jeep Liberty this spring. Unlike the dual-clutch unit currently available, the nine-speed will be a conventional torque-converter that should better suit the needs of the American C-segment buyer. Judging from the forums here though, driving enthusiasts are loving the 6 Speed Manual and wouldn't trade it for anything.
Cheers undfeated!!

How does a 1,015 sq.-ft. garage stocked with more than 300 quality-tested Mopar performance parts and accessories sound? Yes, that's what we thought too. Chrysler Group LLC will be parking a garage at this year’s North American International Auto Show in Detroit with walls of Mopar parts and accessories for the company’s Dodge Dart, Fiat 500 and SRT Viper. Inside of the Mopar garage will be a fully Moparized all-new 2013 SRT Viper, and hold onto your seats.....Dodge Dart Slingshot. Pietro Gorlier, President and CEO of Mopar, Chrysler Group LLC’s service, parts and customer-care brand says “we want to give show-goers a glimpse of how they can personalize and accessorize some of our new vehicles and furnish their garage in full Mopar style.” If you are at the Detroit Auto Show this week, drop by the garage, break out your notepad and make that wish list.

Here's some good news for Dodge Dart owners everywhere. The first annual AOL Autos Technology of the Year Award has been won by Chrysler's upgraded UConnect system that is featured in the 2013 Dodge Dart. Over 35 entries were competing and the field was narrowed down to six (6) finalists in three categories. The three (3) categories were: connectivity, telematics and active safety. The judges chose UConnect over the MyFord Mobile app, Audi Connect with Google Maps, Cadillac CUE, Honda's LaneWatch technology and Nissan's Tire Pressure Alert and Refill System. The judges were not just anyone, this particular panel knows and understand tech. The judges included editors from AOL Autos, Autoblog and Engadget, as well as a number of other auto and tech journalists and luminaries. If that isn't enough to convince people the UConnect is worthy of the win, readers of Autoblog were polled and they overwhelmingly chose Chrysler's UConnect system as well.
David Kiley, AOL Autos Editor in Chief, remarked that Chrysler's UConnect deserved the first Technology of the Year Award "not because of what it does, but for how UConnect performs every time it's used." Kiley went on to say UConnect "works the way it's supposed to, fills a need and puts a smile on your face." Those familiar with tech nowadays know that when something just works, that makes for the best experience. Since UConnect "just works every time", we'd have to agree that it's worthy of this great award.

Here she is folks, the 2013 Dodge Dart GT. Yes you read that correctly, the sporty Dart GT model originally made its debut in 1963 and is being reintroduced under the new Dart platform. What is interesting to note is that this vehicle looks and is packaged exactly like the R/T and this makes us think that the R/T just may never make it onto showroom floors. Another interesting comment in the presser below is the how they touch on the R/T model by saying "Dodge continues to investigate a high-performance R/T model." We don't know how anyone else feels but this sounds to us like it's never coming. Regardless, the GT looks to be an exact replacement and what a beauty she is. Production of the 2013 Dodge Dart GT will begin in the second quarter 2013.
After reading the full press release below we want to hear from you, could this be the R/T in GT clothing and for those of you who have been waiting on the R/T, are you happy with the vehicle?
Cheers ResumeSpeed!
