tire pressure monitor
Well took the car in today to have a slow leak checked out and somehow the tire monkey at discount tire broke my valve stem. Well fixed the nail hole in tire and searched for a replacement tire pressure monitor and the cheapest price they found one was 150 bucks.
Is this really what they cost for the dart? I have heard like 30 a piece. I think 150 is crazy expensive.
I'm glad I don't have to pay to replace it!

I actually had a valve stem go bad on my Challenger that had never been changed. I don't know what they did wrong from the factory, or maybe the part was always bad, but it also developed a slow leak. I balked at the insane price they wanted for a new one, and opted for a standard valve stem instead. When I get new tires, I'll get that one replaced, but jeez- $100 for something that should cost $1 ?? I'd rather just bend down and check my own tires.
For better pricing than your dealership, scroll down to the supporter forums. I'd bet AllMoparParts.com has about the best price on those valve stems.

Put snows on with steel rims and didn't want to see low tire warning all winter. Here they were dealer only parts, 53 bucks was told that these are some of the cheeper ones. They put nitrogen in said it's better.

Hey redlinedart, im actually an employee of discount tire but in california where we are called america's tire but Im sorry that happened to you... it sucks when it happens but unfortunately it does happen from time to time, and im really glad they are standing behind it 100%... i was actually a little worried because i was looking through our store system today and it said that the TPMS is not re build-able or transferable to new wheels which made me kinda mad becuase im a tire guy, of course i want new rims too lol...

Ya they werent going to fess up to it to start with. At first I walked by the door outside and seen them all staring at the wheel I walked up and said what's the problem and the manager said well your tpms is broke and its causing it to leak. Well I told him that's OK it's under warranty at the dealership but can I look at it. He really didn't want to show me at first and when he did I looked at him and said well I can already tell you this didn't happen from just driving. I said your tech smashed it with the bar while he removed the tire . He looked at me like a deer in the headlights and said well its no problem we will get you a new one we will have to call dodge and order it! Little did they know I'm not stupid when it comes to tires I use to work at a tire shop in highschool.

well thats good to know, you unlike a lot of our customers actually knows what hes talking about... sorry again that happened and you had to go through it... back to the reason we are here... do you still have the stock rims on your dart? im looking at the Enkei PF01 in silver
-
Ya I still have the stick rims I'm waiting for summer to put on some aftermarket rims. I have found it hard with our bolt pattern to find something I really like. If I don't find something I may get some wheel adapters and put my old aftermarket 5 spoke Vw wheels on it. I'm not a huge fan of wheel adapters though and haven't ever used them before.
