Well folks it's finally going to become a reality. The ups, downs, it's coming, it's not coming can finally be put to rest. In the middle of Fiat Chrysler's announcement of their five-year plan a slide popped up and revealed, you guessed it, the Dodge Dart SRT! According to sources at the announcement the 2016 Dart SRT will be a forced induction AWD beast. No word on horsepower or MSRP, but at this point who cares--the Dodge Dart SRT just became a reality.

How will this change the landscape with current Dart owners? Who's going to sell/trade theirs off for The Dodge Dart SRT? Let us know in the comments section.

My bet is on the Header Orange color coming back for the 2015 model year. I'm just thinking they stopped taking orders for it this year because you can only get it on the SXT and GT and likely had no further scheduled runs of Orange Darts until the 2015 model year. It looks like they did the same thing with the 2013s back in August of 2013 since most of your "build a Dart" tools that include the 2013 show when it and Citrus Peel were no longer available.

Now if it truly does stay away...that will be quite a sad day. I'd love to get an SRT in just-as-agitating orange of my near-future GT.

Orange is kind of Dodge's color almost right? I mean they kept orange on the Charger and Challenger. I'd hope it wouldn't be a permanent discontinuation of the color.

Waiting... I hope I can pay off in 3 years and buy one of those bad boys - AWD SRT Dart... sounds awesome already!!

First, I hope the announcement of the 2016 refresh and the Dart SRT doesn't further depress existing Dart sales. Secondly, no more Header Orange Dart orders for the 2014 model year (and perhaps longer? *shakes head*.

While I don't have any interest in a Dart SRT at the moment, I'm glad for the enthusiasts they announced it. Of course if they made Plum Crazy exclusive to the SRT... *drool*

I think I just might be trading my dart off in 2016/17. Now if they offer the SRT in the lime green that they offer on the 2015 Challenger, it is a no brainer I will for damn sure!!

Damn I wrote out this long explanation about my past vehicles and why I think the SRT AWD will be the perfect ride for me. Then the app closed on me while multitasking. LoL. We'll to sum it up in short, great news! Seems like it will be the perfect vehicle for me, exactly what I'm looking for. Dodge styling in a mid-compact, AWD and some get up and go! Let the anticipation begin!

i have already put my name on the imaginary list at my dealer (since they are the #1 dealer in the country they will get first dibs on them) .. i am expecting it to be in the low to mid $30's... i dont think twin turbo would be out of the question.. if i get the choice to include input before they are even designed or built.. i would suggest paddle shifters, launch control, weight reduction, a built in front and rear facing dash cams, and c'mon.. if you are going to have a turbo.. how about a factory boost gauge!! oh and bring back header orange and plum crazy purple!!!
ok, that is my rant. you may now carry on about your day.

I was looking for a bike but I'm waiting now. I have a 2013 now and will wait for second year production to work out any bugs. Winter for the 1.4 and summer for the srt! Only way!

After the accuracy of Jalopnik's early renditions of the C7 Corvette, I'll believe what I see from them when they have a spy shot or an artists render. Everybody thought Jalopnik was smokin' some bad weed when the early pics started surfacing........

At least SRT brand is coming back to Dodge where it belongs. I never did get the "rebranding" of a separate SRT line, a separate RAM line of trux, etc. Like we don't know what a RAM truck is - or that it deserves something more than a name of Dodge. Same for the Viper. I can see the SRT group as the high performance end badge, but yeah I'm glad to see that. It's like Chevy. It's ok to call the Corvette a Chevy. Or a Mustang a Ford.
Now, they can go in many areas with the Viper, for example.....
