When the 2013 Dodge Dart hits showroom floors at the end of this month the Chrysler Group expects to see massive popularity among auto buyers. If sales of the demo vehicles is any indication of future sales, we can they just may be right. Chrysler decided to send the first Darts to dealerships one at a time with each dealership driving home their first 2013 Dart from “drive away” events around the country. These models were all identical so that there would be no difference between the cars each dealership got. All the 2013 Dodge Dart's driven to dealerships last month were sporting the Rallye trim, splashed with the Redline 2 Coat Pearl Metallic paint and powered by the 1.4L turbocharged engine. They also featured the 6-speed manual transmission to give the Dart and even more exciting package. It looks like they chose this package because it's the sportiest of the bunch, until the R/T arrives later in the year, and it is a great way to showcase the vehicle.

Of the hunders of dealers who made the trek to the "drive away' events, 202 of them decided to sell their demo units. That number could have been substantially higher if more dealers were willing to sell their demo vehicle, but for good reasons some refrained from selling their only demo. Torque News spoke to some dealers and they revealed that they were holding onto their demonstration Darts "because the benefit of having a Dart on the lot for consumers to experience is important leading up to the full scale production launch of the Dart later this month." They believe that the payoff will be when they take delivery on the stock they are waiting to receive. Exposing more customers to the Dodge Dart will be their winning card so to speak. Other dealers are selling them simply because they are unsure of how many they will receive and when they will receive them. That uncertainty makes selling the demonstration model the better choice for them.

Rumors are suggesting that there may be a supply problem because of production limitations as the Belvidere plant works to meet the early demand, but one thing is for certain - the 2013 Dodge Dart hype machine is in overdrive.

I agree. A lot of people dont even know what a dart is... but they like it. We have had so many test drives and put quite a few miles on our floor model. I believe we got a few orders put in for the limited this weekend.
