      Plug and Play for LED Reverse lights/switchbacks

      While trying to figure out how to make a plug and play for my reverse lights rather than splicing in connectors... I stumbled upon gold and found that someone already beat me to it..

      I don't know if I'm behind or if this is new to everyone as it was to me but here's a link.

      https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01IHHXO6O?psc=1

      Also found a single resistor kit.

      https://www.amazon.com/LUYED-2PCS-6o..._cd_al_qh_dp_t

      I'm considering purchasing a set and seeing how it works.

      You DO NOT need load resistors in a reverse led light. The load resistors only effect lights that continuously cycle, ie turn signals. The load resistor will keep the led turn signals in sync with the non-led blinker bulbs.
      FCA would be wise to make the Dart a small, RWD car next time 'round.

      In order to have LED reverse lights without a Lightout error code you do need resistors.. I as well as many others have purchased the resistors in order to splice them into the existing harness. However, with these, it allows you to not have to splice, but just plug and play!

      The only thing with those that I would worry about is that they say the housing get REALLY HOT when working... which could cause some issues down the road. Be it melting the wire jacket or any other plastic pieces in your taillights or where you have them mounted.

      Yeah I thought that too, but when using them with reverse lights you aren't going to have them on for very long. I was reading up on other people use the that 50w resistor on other applications and when it's not being used it doesn't produce heat. Turnsignals/Reverse lights don't heat them up enough to say.. (melt a 3mm double sidded sticky) As long as you aren't in reverse for hours or using hazards..

      People are going to use resistors regardless (everyone wants LEDS), with this kit it allows you to plug and play rather than splicing them in with T-taps. Saving the harness and making it easy to swap in the old bulbs.

      Yeah this is false due to the canbus system monitoring the reverse lights. It will and does throw a code.
      @RchrdCranium

      You may be on to something. I used something similar to this and it did not work, however I belive the "error cancelers" for the 7440 where actually capacitors. They were sealed in apoxy and I'm assuming not resistors, but they did get fairly hot so I'm not sure. I tried a couple plug and play methods until just saying screw it and splicing them in. Been flawless ever since but please let us know how these work.

      For $20 i'll give it a shot. I don't see why it wouldn't work...

      I'll be buying them Friday, and installing Sunday. I'll drop a post to update you on how it goes.

      PS I have the resistors too, was going to splice them and though... well shit why don't I just make an inline using the + and -, looking for parts and I found this. Fingers crossed. Worst case scenario I'll need directions on which wires to splice. HAH.
