      LED Interior/Exterior bulb swap

      I've been wanting to change out all of the interior bulbs (vanity, map, dome, trunk) and license plate for a while. I can not decide where to get the bulbs from. I was looking for advice on where to find bulbs that will not give errors or have the after glow. I would rather buy bulbs that already have the proper components to do this rather than buy a cheaper set and add the resistor/canceller myself.

      I was looking at brighttails however I can not see a kit for the license plate. Also since I am in Canada it appears as though their site only ships within the US, I could get around this by shipping it to a family member in florida but I would rather receive them myself to cut down wait time. I was also considering precisionLED, however after emailing them they could not guarantee that their kit would be error free. After seeing this thread (License Plate Lights question) about the error on their license plate I am no longer interested in going with them.

      Personally, I am a little OCD and the bulb out error and after glow would drive me nuts. If I had to deal with them I would rather stick to the stock setup that I currently have.

      TLDR. Looking for LED changeout kit with no errors or afterglow, any suggestions welcome. Thanks

      @josh16

      BrightTails is best place to go and he does ship to Canada just have to message him on here or Facebook first. @drobinder on here or Derek Robinder on Facebook. I got all my lights from him and couldn't be happier. I'm also in Canada.

      @DartOut thank you for your help I'll message him on his site. If I can get a full LED kit (interior and exterior) then I will probably get a set of LED reverse lights as well

      There is a plug an play style resistor for the 194 bulbs. That's what I use on my licence plate. No issues. Ebay search 194 inline resistor.

      Reverse lights you have to splice though. No plug and play kit i've used worked. Interior just search 194 canbus and those won't have afterglow.

      If the reverse lights require splicing then I will pass on them. I'd rather wait till a viable plug and play becomes available. I like to have the option to easily revert to stock if needed

      Shouldn't be hard. I haven't seen anything online though. I could try to make one myself lol

      I've had the LEDs installed for months and everything is working excellent. I am finally getting around to putting the error eliminators on my reverse lights and had one question about mounting.

      From what I understand the resistors get very hot and because of this it is not recommended that they be in contact with plastic or carpet. Would it be alright to use 3M double sided tape and stick it to the metal on the inside of the trunk? My only worry is that there will be issues with the heat on the 3m tape. I have seen some resistors have a screw hole for mounting but mine do not have one. @Cntrollerfanboy if you could offer any suggestions it would be appreciated.

      The instruction I got from Brighttails says to attach the t taps to the top two wires. Black and orange. Since there are two black wires I assume it's the one beside the orange. I've attached a pic

      *EDIT* through searching around the site I found my answer. I'll leave this here for anyone else who needs it

      I did mount mine with 3M tape a couple months ago. Haven't fallen down since. The thing is as long you're not sitting in reverse for like 2 hours those resistors won't get hot enough to melt the tape. I even used 3M on my LED turn signal resistors (on almost all the time) and they are still holding on!
