I installed the resistors yesterday. Took off the liner, secured them with double sided tape to the inside of the trunk frame. Used t-taps to connect it to the existing wiring. Started up the car and no error (surprisingly my license plate no longer showed an error) started it again later last night and everything was good. Started it this morning on my way to the gym and both the reverse light and licence plate light error popped up. Coming back from the gym the error still existed.

I took off the liner again and checked all the connections and all the wires are tight. The only thing I could think of would be to wrap the t-taps with electrical tape invade the metal contact on top touches the metal of the trunk. If that doesn't work anyone have any other suggestion? Hopefully I do not need to contact Brighttails for a replacement

With some help from Derek from Brighttails I figured out my problem. I didn't have the metal piece on the t-taps pushed down enough to make a good connections. The metal piece should be pushed down enough so that it is flush with the red plastic of the t-tap. The L shaped piece of plastic on the side is then folded down and clicks into place on the opposite side.

While for some this may have been obvious this was my first time using t-taps. I figured I would post this just in the event it could help others in the future. Now to enjoy my LED reverse lights error free. Just waiting on my 194 resistor for the license plate and my car will be error free

Old post I know... but I have the resistors with the LED reverse lights... I'm still on edge about splicing them...

I have tinted windows so it's not easy seeing at night with the halogens, but with the LEDS it's like day time. I would really like them. But what is the reversibility of using the t-taps?

100% reversible. Remove the t-taps and put some electrical tape over the spot where the splice was. I've had my resistors and LED reverse lights installed for over a year and a half and I've had zero issues.
