Learn how to drive in a cheap car first, so that you don't wreck the nice one.

So how does a 16 year old pay back their parent for a $24K+ car?

Comparatively the Dart is the cheap car. I'd much rather see a 16 yo in a Dart GT that pushes maybe 150whp vs a Mustang/Challenger/Camaro... pushing 250+. I've seen way too many young/new drivers who think they're gods gift to cars die in horrible wrecks typically bringing friends with them (Nick Hogan 1000hp Supra cough cough).

And some parents are just that way. I got a hand me down 10 yo Hyundai Excel as my first car. Other kids I knew had to buy their own. Then there was a kid I knew at school that got a 1yo Jag because his stepmom scratched the mirror on the mailbox backing out and refused to drive it again, so his dad gave it to him at 16.

OP, Congrats on an awesome first car. Sporty, room for friends, and pretty decent on gas if you watch how you drive.

I agree with @snarf7 , drive it for a few months before deciding if you want/need to do anything to the car. Personally my first mod was a stubby antenna and my next few will be a crank pulley, intake, and tint. I love the look of the Mopar chin spoiler and Eibach springs but the Dart GT is pretty low and I scrape the front leaving some driveways as it is.

IMHO, that's a good thing. It builds character, and if you're paying for it, you'll appreciate it all the more

PS - Congrats! My first car was a hand-me-down 1987 Oldmobile Cutlas Ciera :-/

Congrats on ur new car. And welcome to the site. Like others have said I'd wait awhile just to give u time to figure out what u really want to change or add to the vehicle. I've had mine since August and only added 19s tint n rear spoiler. Really just waiting to c what this scat pack is all about. Either way no need to rush into anything u have plenty of time to figure it out.

You'll love your car. I bought my 2013 gt about 3 weeks ago and it's been great. At first, only do cosmetic stuff (tint, rims, etc.) and as bodelicious said wait until this scat pack package comes out. It's your first car, learn it and definitely keep it in warranty. Once this scat pack comes out, dodge will install it which will keep in warranty. It sorta of sucks in a way cuz the purpose of mods is to do it yourself but these cars are tricky. I have a Z28 convertible as my summer car with a LS1 powering it. She was simple to mod out with headers, an ory, cat back and cold air intake but these darts are controlled by computers. If I were to do the same with this car once the parts become available the computers would freak out. Keep it simple with this one. Wait until the mopar parts come out and trust them to install it all. I hate to say it but I'm not sure how much work an individual can on these cars without the vehicle bugging out :/
