Uconnect Issues
Hey guys, I have had my Dart for about two weeks, and I am still having issues with getting my phone to connect to the uconnect system.
Real quick, I have a Droid Razr Maxx (awesome phone btw) and I go to connect it to the unconnect, it will pair, I will be able to view my address book, etc. but when i go to dial or select a phone # in the phone book and hit "dial" it just sits there and never connects. Then after 45 seconds or so it shows no phone being connected. Any ideas? Is there a reset button on the uconnect system?
Note: The dealer set it up for me (super quick) and I wasn't really paying attention because I was in awe of my new car. And I had it working ONLY once. When I first got home from the dealership, I called my gf on my phone (outside of the car) and the car was still on and the call was picked up and answered in the car. Thats the only time it worked for me.
Also, I tried setting up 4 different phones INCLUDING another indentical phone to mine and they all paired and dialed without any issues...wth!!!!??!?!
Could it be my phone? Any help would rock.
Thanks guys. I love this site (and my dart) more and more each day.

It sounds like you have a similar problem that I ran across. I tried to connect my iPhone so that I could listen to the music I downloaded/purchased from iTunes. It wouldn't play using Bluetooth and when connected with a cord would show the song list but not play and would give a URL server error message on my phone. Service department guy plugged his iPhone into the cord and it started to play within two seconds. The difference was his was running iOS 4.3 and mine was running iOS 5.1. Both had been jailbreaked. His worked with no problems, mine didn't. So I was able to determine it was my phone. It seems like, since you had an identical phone, that you have come across the same problem but with the phone side of it. I would check out forums that talk about your phone and see if anyone else has had a problem with connect to a cars Bluetooth system. I need to do this myself but just haven't cared enough to search for a solution with my phone. Especially since I just put all my music on an SD card. Good luck with resolving this issue.

is your phone set up to automatically connect?
ensure your phone's firmware is up to date.
over 95% of uconnect issues are problems with the phone. very few issues with the actual system and most are corrected with software updates.

Delete the pairing and re-pair it again.

I had a problem too and after I deleted my phone and re-paired it no problems after that.

When we first got our van I had to re-pair both phones and then it was fine.

I have deleted my phone from unconnect several times and unpaired my phone from uconnect also ..but i'll try it again. maybe i should pair it and let it sit so it can load all my inbox...maybe it never fully finishes connecting?? im just stumped because my father-in-law's phone worked perfectly in my dart and it is the exact same phone and firmware i have. (Droid Razr Maxx)

if his phone works ok, then the issue is obviously with your phone. there must be something different.
is your phone set to be "discoverable to paired devices"?

You are not running any custom ROMS on your Maxx are you? Is it stock, unrooted and running ICS (Ice Cream Sandwich)? also make sure you delete both pairings, phone AND car

I deleted my phone off the uconnect system and un-paired it from my phone. reconnected, even changed the PIN from 0000 to something else...it connects just fine, i save it as my favorite. I can access my phone book, look at my inbox etc...my wife called me while i was just looking at my phone...i answered the call on my phone, and i was able to talk to her through the uconnect system...great! I was excited...I said let me call you right back (thinking it was working) and when i try to dial out on the system...still nothing. BUMMER. After 45 seconds all the buttons "grey out" and I have all kinds of trouble re connecting to the uconnect...I have to turn the car off and on or re-start my phone.
So as of now, it looks like I can connect, but can only receive calls...I cannot dial out.
I guess my only other thing would be to reset my phone to factory settings (which i'd rather not do - i'd lose all my screens, settings, ringtones, etc.) or go to the dealer, but I have a feeling the dealer is going to say...it's your phone not the uconnect.
any more ideas??? I appreciate all the help. This site rocks!
